Q:

Anyone own a shotgun?

Thinking of getting 12 gauge for clays, hunting, and home protect.

Anyone have a shotgun? If so, which one, how much was it? What do you like or hate about it? Which model would you prefer to have?

I have the old Mossberg 500 pump. Simple to use for home work 😆 but if you looking for and all around shotgun the Benelli or Bereta X2 auto’s. Just keep in mind the long guns maybe a problem for in home protection.

Simple,cheap and nasty 😆

Franchi SPAS-12 is what you need!

😆

Check out the Franchi shotguns, they are imported by Benelli and have the same parts as some Benelli shotguns. I have the Franchi 612 (semi-auto), it’s very light weight, cycles fast, recoils easy on the shoulder and was around $600.00

Pay a bit more up front for the Benelli, but you’ll get the best built semi auto shotgun made. Empties the magazine before the first spent shell hits the ground.

Just helped a friend purchase this one yesterday, $955 out the door, which was a great deal. He was going to go with the Remington 1187, but there wasn’t that much of a price difference. When you hold one, you’ll understand…

I have a mossberg 500 persuader for home defense. It’s useless for hunting or sport shooting as the barrel is not choked. 8 shots vs. 4-6 of field/sporting versions.

I have a single 12 New England Arms and a Remington 870 Express Wingmaster in 20. The Wingmasters are nice guns for the money.

What I really want is a Beretta Xtrema 2.

A shotgun for home protection vs clays and hunting is a totally different ball game. Home protection you’re going to want very short and easily manuvered, possibly with a flashlight mounted.

Longer barrels will generally give better range for flight shooting but you can’t manuever them around in a house either. Screw out chokes are desired dependant on range, game, or shot.
