Q:

Are there visable differences between a talon and a condor?

Just bought what was advertised as a condor and went out to shoot it and it wasn’t loud and the pw was turned to its highest setting. I checked the fill pressure and the valve opened at 2800 psi. put 50 shots through it, shooting into my duct seal stop and the pellets were penatrating less than a 2260 with A hot valve. and hardly used any air. If i turn the pw to less than 5 the pellets stick in the barrel. the top hat is out just enough that the breach will just rotate. So the questions are: Without disassembly is there a way to tell which model this is(i.e. serial no. or model no. or physical charactoristics). Do you think a clean and lube will bring it back? or do you think its more serious, such as weak or broken spring.

I know that it is A condor frame and valve as for the rest of it i’ll know when I get it apart and measure the spring and weigh the hammer. I’m sure I’ll find that it is all condor. The guy I bought it from said he bought it new 7 years ago and hasn’t shot it in a year and a half. With the power wheel being cranked all the way up for that long I’m sure the spring has taken a set and should be replaced. The rifle is in real nice shape, no handling marks or wear any where, not evan a tear in the foam on the bottle.
As far as lube, I’ve heard silicone can be abrasive what do you think of lubri-plate lithium grease? I know thats what is recomended for the shoebox compressor.
I don’t have any pics yet and if I did I don’t know how to post them being that I’m pretty computer illiterate.

Welcome to the mad house cody!

so which frame and valve do you have? I take it this was a used gun… dose the brass part of the valve have two holes or two slots in it?

also what is your barrel length, and was it advertised as shooting better?

Cody – is it a talon SS, talon or a Condor or a…..? 😆

How ’bout some pics of your rig?

Only use silicon grease/lube to lube the parts and o-rings

I don’t know I kept mine stock I’m sure others will start to chime in soon with more help good luck

while i’ve got this apart is there any recomended mods or things to pay close attention to?

put 2 pennies in the fill adapter and slowly screw it on until it starts to let out the air then leave it until its empty simple as that don’t let the air out to fast do it slowly!!

so I guess it’s time to take it apart. What is the best way to empty the tank?

this is a condor

this is a talon ss

this is a talon

Condor high flow valve is on the left talon and talon ss valve is on the right

the scope rail on a condor has 2 holes the scope rail on the talon or talon ss have one hole. i will post a pic
