Q:

Avoid an accident from Air-oil mixture.

Hi Guys..Im new here and recently i become a happy S410 owner so it was matter of time to post a topic while usually i was on the “outside looking in” about this Forum.
Right now i need your advice because i believe that you may know a method or a material to make “O2 Cleaned” a diving bottle or an air rifle cylinder if accidentally dropped some oil inside while it stills not in use? how to 100% clean without the risk of an explosion?
I am said that because i strip down my Hill pump and my little brother spreaded with engine oil the pump tube and it parts without my permission when i left the room and go to the toilet..When i was return i saw what he did…After this i cleaned piece by piece all the part with a cloth which been wet by a cleaner but still i am not sure if it s safe to reassemble the pump and bring it back to action.
What will happen if some oil fume have been created by the high pressure the moment i fill my rifle with the pump?…
Have you ever seen an accident while a bottle under pressure blow by itselfs?…I did!!!.. 😕 ….and believe me you must feel very lucky if you are Alive after that happened…as i did !!!.
Some people said that Oil and oxygen is the real problem not oil and air.
I believe that this is wrong and there is an info from Air arms if you noticed the owner manual which ask for your Attention about this.

You think the warming jelly will boost fps??? 😯 😆

No…might lead to a tank dump though. 😆

so maybe desensitizing gel will give better shot count 😉

they dont call me moneyshot for nothin…

really though, brake cleaner dissolves damn near everything, just make sure thats not true bout o rings, too (vibrating ring…damn! ill stop.)

Safe for what?

WD-40 is pretty good as a penetrating oil…excellent as a water displacer (Water Displacer…formula 40 😉 ).

If by chance you’re using it in the pump for your pcp….I would recommend you stop doing so…clean it out…use only the lube recommended by the manufacturer.

hmmm, what about WD-40 ? i always use that, is it safe ?

😆 Not going to say it. 😆

Read your owners manual for the proper lubricant. Rather doubt they’ll tell you to use KY…. 😆

Otherwise, I’m thinking silicone grease would be a good choice.

I agree with brake cleaner!
It solves allmost everything! It’s a good solvent.

Otherwise use acethone, wich is the good ol’ brake cleaner as far as I know.

I guess you should lube the thing up a bit though, use some silicone grease (not a lot..) and if you’re really paranoid.. KY jelly?

Thanks guys….I do clean as you suggest and everything is back to normal….

Spray in a generous amount of brake cleaner. Swirl poor out and let dry. You should be fine!

Cheers,

Marc

Dip all the parts in liquid freon to remove all traces of oil. Or, relax, your cleaning with solvents and reassembly according to the manufacturer’s service recommendation is good enough.
