Yes, yes and yes

if you cant cock it with the HSTA all the way in—back it out till it cock

Yes I don’t think the reg backed out or the velocity would have gone up not down.

So take the HSTA all the way down? and back it out? You believe that max velocity at this setting is? 823?

Hey Ernest,

Mine is set similar to yours, mines flush it’s at 820 also.

Haven’t open up my shorty yet—no reason 2, did you mess with your reg?

No, I have not but do you think I need to change the urethane O-rings inside the reg ?

the HSTA is just about flush and it was shooting 770-780. I turned the HSTA almost full 1/2 turn and brought it up to 810?

maybe you should tighten it all the way in and start from there, look like your afraid to tune that HSTA, should be looking at the crony not how much you are turning the HSTA. we want to see your max speed—–I got $5 on 823fps

I’d say 1/4 – 1/2 turn on the HST should get you to 830ish.
If not your pass max and going down on.

Is your HST flush to the receiver ?
Or how far into ?

BP Tuner I do not remember if I crony’d the baby. I may not have. However the readings from R&L came back at 847-860 using 18.1’s. It was shooting at 770-780 then I tightened up the HST and it shot from 800- 810 but mostly on the lower end 800-804. I will tighten the HST and grub screw and run two full fills through her. I would like her shooting hotter 830’s -840’s if I can. I gave the HST almost 1 full turn when it went up to 810.

Steve and R&L posted on YF about there crony is reading vary high–so the posted speed that came with the gun wasn’t accurate.

Is your HSTA flush with the body??? mine is and shooting 820fps I would tighten the HSTA till it reach max speed till it start to slow down as a reference point before any adjustment to the reg is made.

did you verified the speed when you got it as a reference point??, I seen 3 shorty that was shooting only in the 810-825 with 18.1g. with my crony, all crony read differently–lighting, range to muzzle, location of pellet entry and angle and type of crony. got customer reading higher and lower then my crony, its impossible to duplicate the speed with some one else setup.

I think it was shooting at that max speed with your crony and your HSTA loosened up.

was it shooting consistently at 776-780fps???? and at 810fps????? with a full string ?????

if its consistent with any speed setting in 2 full fills I see no issue with the reg, but came shooting max 810fpe with your crony. if you want it shooting 860 with your crony increase reg pressure by turning on the adjuster less then 1/4 turn CCW —>loosen set screw 1st on the photo. this reg is vary sensitive when adjusting–it don’t take much to change the pressure and doesn’t take that much torque to turn the adjuster. when you got the speed right then wait for the reg tester to document the pressure on the body. 860fps is to fast for that short barrel your going to use a lot of air–if you don’t mind about shot count!

Good luck oak, you’ll get her back again!
Jamie, hats off too you dude, thats really kool of you too help out like that!

I will pay the postage Dman. I will PM you.
I just ordered the set screws from McMasters.

I sent u a PM …..

sounds like the Reg adjuster might of backed out. can’t really say for sure with out actually having it in front of me..

Are you Mechanically inclined at all Oakey???? I can loan u a regulator tester ….. just pay the postage .

and between the crew on here i think we can get yah back where you need to be.

The regulators are all marked anyhow. (i like to verify with a tester) so if it did move you should be able to just move it back . change the screw out to a nylon tip and tighten it down.
