Q:

Barrel cleaning, how often

Hi guys, hope everyone is doing well.
Over at a facebook group some guys were saying that they have to clean their Vulcan barrels every 150 to 200 shots otherwise the gun starts loosing its accuracy. Read few same comments regarding Fx barrels at another forum.
Am really wondering if it is just some brand war going on or is there any truth behind it.

where can be ordered/found/bought ?

CZ barrels overall are known for their quality and accuracy. I have some CZ firearms and their accuracy is unbeatable.

If it requires cleaning so frequently then it means the barrels are not finished up to the standard. I think that is not acceptable for a gun costing so high. Barrel is the most important part of a gun and if it is not finished well then what are they charging for ?

From what I remember CZ barrels are cheap. Ed mentioned that they are about 150$ if not less. I do not remember the exact price. By the way – good question why that PCP is so expensive. I have no idea but I believe that the price of the barrel should be at least 50% of the guns’s price. With that in mind Vulcan should cost about 300$. Sounds reasonable, doesn’t it?

I clean mine every tin 350 shots. My barrel is polished. You can find thread on how I did it. I also lube pellets with one shot case lube from Hornady. Barrel stays very clean even after a tin of pellets.

On my cricket .22 I clean every 100 shots – for sure 😉

Mine had to be cleaned every 40-50 shots. Scary leading in the choke area. I think the barrel was too tight or the internal surface was not smooth enough or both. I think the better the barrel the more shots without any cleaning without accuracy loss.
