Q:

BB’s "Big" announcement…. What do you think?

The news that was supposed to shock the airgun world, be monumental, etc, etc is that Tom Gaylord is involved in a TV show about airgunning.

Perhaps I’m a bit cynical on it, but who is going to sponsor this show? I’m sure Gamo will be a major sponsor. I suppose this means that we can now see more 200lb pigs being taken with Gamo .177 airguns?

Perhaps all this exposure on how effective big bore airguns are will gain some acknowledgment of the masses…. perhaps too, from the anti-gunners…

Personally, I think the show will air for a short time and then be like a fart in a windstorm and be gone.

I really dont see it as monumental thing that was advertised, but then again… I am not surprised by the hype.

I wish them well in the venture and I hope that if successful, the exposure wont come back and bite us all in the ass….

Us ‘Europeans’ should hang our heads in shame. Rights whittled away whilst we watched and effectively did nothing. Its ok for us who hold a FAC but that too will soon be a thing of the past….

That’s what happens when you stil use words like “whilst”….. 🙂

I can’t imagine Gamo being a sponsor as they rarely ever position themselves in “airgun only” environments….which is what the tv show would be (if I understand it correctly).

I wouldn’t be suprised if Umarex or Daisy got involved (Umarex because it’s HUGE and Daisy for the safety aspect)…

I’m stoked to see what happens…

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Its coming to you guys too. Now is the time to stand up for your rights. One little chink in your armour is all it will take. Let one law slip in, be it ammo control of whatever, and it will open the gates to legislation that will end in such restrictions that will end the sport.

BE WARNED. The Land of the Free will soon be gone. Only the rich and priviliged will have access to guns. In their hands it will be a noble and skillfull past time. In yours it will be criminal, violent and irrisponsible.

They did allow your comment, Walter.

I think Ediths response would be of particular interest to our European TAG members who apparently “Cowered”, “Quit”, and “gave up” their rights.

interesting.

Wait till the critics find out that you can take down a large animal with an airgun. I see new laws coming our way. 😈 😈

thanks for the link Rob.
I left a comment hopefully they allow it 🙂

Walter….

That’s good…,
Now everyone will know our dark little secret-
IDIOTS!!!

Let’s see how fast we can speed the govt. to take these too!!!

Can I get a link to the BLOG

Big Bore airguns a small fringe group in the airgunning world. They only make a small fraction of what BB and Pellet Gun sales do. To put it out there on a TV show as the premiere show is going to lead people to believe it is a lot more prevalent then it really is.

Essentially it appears they want to lure powder burners in with big bore airguns and hopefully they then will buy from the typical pellet gun pool.

Big Bore Airguns being pushed into the lime light might just be the spark that hobbles the airgun hobby for us in the future.

When That happens it is time to pick up a bow or crossbow.

I agree Rob.

The guy is in some kind of fog if he thinks this is a good idea.

The longer airguns stay under the radar the better. There really is no point in showing the world anything regarding the shooting sports.
Anti-gunners cannot and should not be swayed to our side…. we don’t want them. There is no way to convince someone that holds an illogical opinion to change their mind. That is the foolish thinking on our part that we can somehow increase our good name……

Tom Gaylord forget it!!!

That was the first thing that came to mind when I read the blog, I truly hope it doesn’t pull in unwanted attention to are “free” sport.
one cool thing is that Paul will be hosting it, I find him entraining as well as knowledgeable. I guess we’ll see what happens…
