Benjamin Rogue
.357 at 1000 ft/sec generating 250 ft/lbs at a cost of $1,300 at PyramydAir. I’ve read some exciting things about it but wonder if the electronics will hold up. I’ve got $800 saved for a Condor but I’m rethinking that purchase at the moment…Anyone heard anything good or bad about the Rogue or should I wait until it’s been out for a while?

It’s the bigger is better competition. The problems with the Rogue, that I see, are the physical size, and Crosman’s lousy reputation in the quality control department. The Rogue looks like a giant airgun from its specs. I don’t find that apealing in the least…I don’t care what caliber it is. Then there are all of the problems that should never leave the factory. We put up with this garbage because their customer service is very good. The thought of being Crosman’s product tester with repeated back and forth returns of thr Rogue is dismal at best. Then there is the .357/9mm caliber thing. I can’t think of what I would use that caliber for. I don’t hunt like Buthcers45 does. .25 is more than enough for the pests that I have to deal with. Yes, it does seem like an answer to a question that nobody has asked. 😉
Of course, they could get it right and I could be clammering for onr in a few months. 😉 Never know. 😀
That’s a perfect analogy… 😉
That rifle is the answer to a question that no one asked.
Now do the same thing with a lw 25 caliber barrel doing 75 to 120 FPE and then you have a winner.
They keep asking for reviews from people who have recieved one on the Yellow, now they are asking who ordered one, the responce is the same, “0”.

Wow, is it all airgun manufacturers or PA…
Delivery date was pushed back AGAIN to the beginning of September…
I predict it will be pushed back again until November. 🙄 🙄 🙄
Electronics are clearly here to stay. The Daystate has an incredible shot count with the same air reservoir as our AF guns. But I’m a huge fan of keep-it-simple – and AF has that in spades.
I wish i could do it. Just tired of NEW GUNS with no history. I’m interested in the gun but i wanna sit back and watch on this one.
So whose going to be the first to take the plunge? I would like to hear a real world evaluation of the Rogue.
This is a fun debate… here’s my take… at 250 ft/lbs – you can kill a person. AG or not – you shouldn’t be shooting it in a neighborhood.
A person an be killed with 40 ft/lbs Condor if shot in the head or heart. That’s not the point of the gun. It’s being marketed specifically as a small game(coyote size) hunting rifle. They are saying a benefit is using it in close quarters where a PB has way more over travel & can’t be used. I agree it’s not trying to be a PB at all. It’s just another hunting tool, like bows or crossbows, spear fishing, rod & reel or throw nets(for fishing)
PB, I have a couple Condor tanks with valves for sale, you could get both for under the price of one brand new…. 😉
I did some investigation into the Rogue and it is shrouded and will adjust down to under 300fps apparently.
It gets more than 3 shots as well. It’s sounding like quite the big bore actually.
First one I have heard of with an 8 shot mag…!
Crosman is going to be busy, very busy making these suckers.
I am with you guys on the accuracy thing, of course . i just put the 38 thing in to relate with the other post.
I would like to have a larger bore air gun, but it would have to be quite,a 35 cal or 308 , but it would be for small game , and i probably could not shoot it around town , due to excessive penetration,so it would not be worth having it, because if i had to load up and go some where to shoot, i would just want to shoot the dozens of powder guns that i don’t ever get a chance to shoot.
so i would think that i can do the most i would need with my condor, get a 25 barrel, and some of Jerry’s slayers and go to town. but still that would be way over penetration on smaller critters.i would only be able to take safe shots with a back up, so really here i am back to my 22 condor in the 900’s with medium weight slugs and head shots. ?????
guess i cant justify a new toy, Dammit 👿
What i need to do is buy another condor tank and have one set up for lighter pellets and the other set up for heavy , that would be nice. that way i could leave the tanks alone and not have to mess with them as much.

I have probably owned most of the Guns out there or a copy of them.
The best High Powered Pistol Ive owned was the 1976 Ruger 44 magnum, 7 inch Barrel.
First shot dead center, and if you want to do it twice you need to take the Gun apart and clean it but only one accurate shot per load.
Seriously I have seen a Man shot with a K-Frame 38 special 5 times in the chest and he drove himself to the doctor,, another incident I saw a man shot by a Police officer and left for dead, and he lived, another time a Guy I know was shot with a 38 Smith and he laid there and played dead, that’s the only thing that kept him from being killed, His friend was killed by the same Gun that Night.
If I’m going to make a one shot count I sure wouldn’t use a 38, it is a good gun, the police that shot a guy with the 38 and he lived,,, went and bought a hogs leg the Next day, I know him well, he said a thirty eight was a 22 on steroids LOLOL.
My cousin has a 38 and lives in the woods plum away from people and has a 38, and he carries his 3030, he said a 38 is ridiculous LOOLO. He saw my Air rifle shoot through a Lowe’s treated 4X4 at 25 yards and only flipped it a little, and his eye got big as Saucers. The high powered Powder burners will easily do the same plus more, but the Air rifle has less laws governing them, and in the hands of a person trained to use them properly, and with good judgement, you can kill anything in these woods with one. Including Black Bear. 😀 I like all my guns Powder burners and Air rifles, I’m a gun freak,, but I think the Air rifle is really under estimated. âž¡
I would get the rouge for fun factor if i had the $$$ plus I am sure is could be tamed down in noise which would make it and IDEAL Coyote and Fox hunter at the edge of city’s where hunting is allowed Plus being it is multi shot You would have followup shots and the reduced noise would make a GREAT night time predator gun where shots around here are almost always under 50 yards

I need more air and less expensive bullets.

All kinds of Ifs and ands about this gun, It just might be a winner when it gets here.
I have some housework to do or I’d order one just to have as a conversation tool when Friends come around.
My 308 is not far behind the Rogue in Foot Pounds as they stated it.
But as most think a 25 is what I’m hooked on I have four,, A Tony Talondor for which I shot yesterday and shot a 1/4 group at 49 pounds of energy with a 25 grain pellet, wheel turned plum off. It was just over a thousand Feet per second at the muzzle. On 88 wheel settin it shot a 38 grain Pellet EJ at just over 98 Foot Pounds of Energy.
Then I have the Condor that I converted and it is a fire storm, and a Talon ss and a Stubby, all set up by me and the SS has the extreme valve by RL Airguns. Then I have the Talon SS 22 caliber. All of the guns mentioned will shoot above specks. As a matter of fact, the Tony Gun does more on the three thousand Fill than the sheet I got from John Condor25.
Now!! I have both Disco’s and all three Marauders and the Marauder -P and guns I’ve owned for many many years they all shoot good to this day.
I use muzzle loading lead out solution on my barrels after a box of pellets are fired through the gun, I assign a box to each gun, and when it is empty the barrel is cleaned till it shines like a new dime.
Crosman IMHO is one of the top airguns on the market, if it was made in the UK it would sell here in America for three times the money, I to this day have only had to ask crosman to send me a clip for the 22 Maraud-P because the spring broke in the one I got,,, it is #26 and has performed flawlessly ever sense.
I read where many has degraded the crosman PCP rifles but I recon I’m Just lucky. I use slick 50 on my O’Rings and on the outside of my top hats, and to this day I’ve never blown “one” O-Ring. My Stoeger springer will hit practically one hole groups at 25 Yards with the Boxed Crosman Pellets. Hope this helps, so far I can only give every Gun I have even the Old time guns an A+, But I recon I might be the one that is making them do so well cause I take care of them LOLO. 😀 😀
