Benjamin Rogue
.357 at 1000 ft/sec generating 250 ft/lbs at a cost of $1,300 at PyramydAir. I’ve read some exciting things about it but wonder if the electronics will hold up. I’ve got $800 saved for a Condor but I’m rethinking that purchase at the moment…Anyone heard anything good or bad about the Rogue or should I wait until it’s been out for a while?

so you know allot of things seem ugly to me at first and then they kind of start growing on me to the point of acceptance, but that Rogue i don’t think will ever be anything but ugly.
I have a M, 36 smith , a M.38 Smith, a M.60 Smith, and i have carried the M-36 the most,to the point of a lot of blueing long gone and can give a coke can hell at 50 yards with it. so don’t underestimate a J frame 38 smith. And it’s worth 3 or 4 times what i paid for it years ago. 😉
I’m making a point about airguns pretending to be powder burners. Who needs 250ft/lbs in air when a cheap powder burner will do.
I carried J frame snubbies and shot them a lot, a fucking lot for over 30 years.
I once shot a doe at 55 yards with a mdl 38 at the ranch, I always prefered the mdl 38 over the rest of them. But I would not want someone who shot them as I did, shoot at me at 100 yards.
But then you have to consider I used those guns to defend my life, carried one for years strapped to the top strap of my 2nd chance vest, combine that with the fact I shoot anything I have a lot.
I have to say I never did scope one tho Jerry. 😆 But put a laser on one and they are wicked.
Compare them to a air rifle, it is apples and oranges, just not the same thing.
Case in point, my Ranger 45 is a far better killer, but I would not want to have to stck it in my waistband during a narc buy. 😉

Is the Rogue shrouded?
If not it’s going to be really loud. 😉
If you can’t hit them with lead, scare the shit out of them with noise right Jerry? Who needs a scope! 😆
So, you guys think a 2 inch barrel .38 is something that would be considered against an air rifle in a purchase decision? 😆
” I’ve got this burning desire to toss out some lead at 250fpe! I really don’t care what the sight radius is as I don’t care where the lead ends up. The most important thing to me is 250fpe and 5 damn near random shots is better than 3 well aimed shots (since I don’t care where the 250fpe ends up!). I guess I could buy an expensive air rifle but wait! A .38 snub nose will do the trick! Yeah, that’s the ticket! And heck, if I ever care where the bullet goes, I can just put a 24 power scope on the snubbie!”

I would agree with you on that, and I own a vault full of powder burners.
But when a Gun is worth more after it is owned than it is new then I’ll take my chances on the Airgun for resale LOL. 😀
Ive seen Condors sell for $2000 dollars with a few 10 cent items installed … put a set of peral handles on that Snub nose and you’ll loose money LOLOLOL. 😀
Now that is spoken from a man that has em all. If I could get 2 times as much out of my Ruger M77MK2 I’d sell it tomarow LOLOL. I see $700 QuackenBushes sell for $1200 on Arms America Auctions. They don’t get 2/3rds of their money out of a high end Powder burner.
My Opinion???? Not too many laws governing the Air puker, but get caught with a Podwer hog under the seat and you have to fill out a lot of paper work Garenteeing the Officer you won’t shoot anyone today,, thats after he puts a high power light in your eyes to check your pupiles and does a subriaty test on you “even” ifen you havent drink one beer in over 20 Years.
I’ll travel with my Stuby 25 and my Scuba tank LOLOL.
All they can do is a sniff test on my tank and I’m free to go LOLOL. 😀 😀
Pssst Pssst it will kill Big Dogs. 😀 I’m not admiting to anything I just have the Gut feeling LOLOL. That snubby won’t hit a Big Dog at 40 yards, but teh noise will sumon the Police and the neighbors and run the dog off and you’ll have to explaine to the police why you was shooting a Highly inaccurate hand gun in the neighborhood.LOLOLOL 😀
I stand corrected!! 😆
Actually with a J frame Smith you only get 5.

😆 Plus you get six full power shots and not just three before you ahve to reload… 😆
I’d wait until a consumer gets their hands on this thing. Reviews are not realistic and shouldn’t be trusted…
Find one negative review of a Gamo rifle from a retailer that sells them… Not going to happen… 😉
38 snub gives the same energy, it’s smaller, costs less, and doesn’t require air: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smith_%26_Wesson_Model_36

I think the Rogue is going to be a fine rifle. Modified Codors are fine rifles. They are different animals though and you should probably choose your next gun based on what you want to do with it and your ability to actually get out and do that.
I have air guns ranging from low power pumps through magnum springers through PCPs from 30 to 750fpe. They range in cost from around $25 to $8500 but they all have limitations.
I can open the door and shoot a pump (or my kids can) and I can shoot my very quiet .25 PCP as much as I want but shooting the big guns requires some restraint!
So, my advice is; decide what gap in your arsenal you want to fill first and buy the best gun for that purpose.
I have been keeping up with the B.R air rifle for a while now. If it were me I would get the Condor and wait a while for the B.R to drop in price. Plus I would imagine another company in the near future will make one as well. A .25 caliber condor with some upgrades and using surefire slugs you should get 100+ fpe. I know if you get a condor you wont be disappointed in it because it has good accuracy and power. It all really comes down to what you want to do with it? But I know if you get a condor you can get lots and lots of information on the forum which is a bonus.

Why do TODAYS airgunners still compare AG’s to PB’s? WHY? Heres one then…..the 250 FPE SHROUDED AIRGUN (BR) is much quieter than a 2″ snub nose and i’m willing to bet, MORE accurate than the snubbie at 40-infinity yards. And i’m talking all out ACCURACY, not the ability to hit a coke can ANYWHERE on the can at distance. Simply no way that a snubbie at 40-50 yards will hit the O in the word COKE on the can. So, there is one VICTORY for the airgun. Oh thats right, PB’s are loud as hell and you can’t shoot them in as many places as you can a AG. That’s 2.
Airguns are a hobby or something that someone collects. You don’t POWER compare an airgun to a powder burner cause that SIMPLY IS NOT THE POINT of the airgun. AIRGUNS ARE NOT TRYING TO BE FIREARMS…PEOPLE TRY AN MAKE AG’s PB’s.
The most POWERFUL AIRGUN on the market can not even (AS OF TODAY) beat the tried and true 30-30 or the .308 winchester or even the long in the tooth 30-06 or many of the HYPER VELOCITY 22 calibers. 2000-4000 psi of air compares NOT to 16-60,000 psi.
I love both of them but airguns are simply different than pb’s and vice versa.
