Q:

Best muzzle velocity

Now after finishing 2 tins i would like to have some clarification.
What is the best muzzle velocity with jsb 18.1 grains? Mine is shooting 890ft/s out of the box.
What is the regulator pressure out of the box? I noticed that at 140 bar the muzzle velocity gets higher then it drops down.
Thank you

Piku has got some videos here

Nope, sorry. But it’s all the same whn you boil it down. Same barrel as on the Cricket standard

But don’t you know any specific videos for vulcan except for Sniperqty? Thanks

That’s why I said the old vidoes. Both have ballistics videos, Ted talks about chairgun and how to shoot in the wind and how to shoot at an angle. Matt talks about how to do range cards etc

I know them already. They mostly do hunting and airguns reviews videos. Nothing deeply technical..

Sweet! Lots to learn, there are plenty of good youtube videos on youtube too. AirArmsHuntingSA and Ted’s holdover’s old videos are quite helpful. I don’t care for their new (recent) ones but they have some good stuff on their channels

That gives me a really wierd reading, I must have screwed it up somehow. Sorry mate, but without a ballistics app like Strelok you don’t really need a BC value anyways.

I just downloaded chairgun and I’m beginning to understand lots of things 🙂

Thank you for your reply. I don’t feel like messing around with the regulator for now. It is shooting decently.
I received yesterday a reply from Evgeny. He said that he best muzzle velocity is 280m/s using jsb 15.89 grains with energy of 41 joules. This will give me around 85 shots from 250bar to 135bar.

Right now I’m shooting at 273m/s with jsb 18.1 grains..

Looks like that you may be able to lower the regulator (and get more shots) if your velocity increases after it drops off the reg at 140bar. Depends how many shots that are higher speed after coming off the reg, and/or if you feel like messing with it. If it shoots well and only 3-4 shots are higher, may just leave it alone.

7 inches

And how much did the pellet drop? In Inches, not mildots Thanks

Thanks cricket. I’m using jsb 18.1 grains. My zero is at 40 yards. Speed 890 ft/s

Maybe you have a better BC with 855? the better BC the less drop and more energy is retained. You can calculate BC with bullet drop in apps like Strelok Pro and probably on the internet as well.

I you have more drop at 90y then my guess is you have a much better BC with the lower speed, there is a logical explanation but I don’t have it in my head.

Where is your Zero? If you measure the drop from Point of Aim (bullseye) to Point of Impact (where the pellet lands) I can calculate your BC. I also need pellet weight and speed to do this. Give me the info and I will help you.
