Best muzzle velocity
Now after finishing 2 tins i would like to have some clarification.
What is the best muzzle velocity with jsb 18.1 grains? Mine is shooting 890ft/s out of the box.
What is the regulator pressure out of the box? I noticed that at 140 bar the muzzle velocity gets higher then it drops down.

No I don’t have a Vulcan. I too was contemplating Cricket vs Vulcan before deciding on Cricket. Mainly because it was said to be more quiet, and also it was cheaper lol. I didn’t have a job at the time. I do now however and I was thinking of getting a .25 Vulcan but the mutant has catched my eye. I will probably opt for the Mutant.
I have a friend who owns a Vulcan .22 He likes it a lot and produces some great groups with it. He uses 16gr pellets from Air Arms (better quality control so better pellets than normal JSB) I would highly recommend you find some FX or Air Arms 16gr pellets and shoot some groups at 50m You may very well be surprised at the accuracy. For longer than 50 I would go with the 18gr for sure.
I have gotten some outstanding groups with FX 16gr pellets. My best one to date is 5 shots at 58 yards measuring .33″ CTC

Do you have a vulcan? I wasn’t sure what to get between a vulcan or a cricket. I like cricket so much…
BC is the value that determines how well the pellet flies through the air or something. basically, the higher BC the more energy is retained down range. You will have more FPE left in the pellet.
I would recommend you fill to 220 bar only. Nothing wrong with filling to 250, it’s just that regulators tend to be very wasteful of air above 220. So between 250-220 you will get less shots than between 200-170. 30 bar is used but less shots at that fill. I don’t know why but maybe someone else can explain.

I just finished testing it. I could fill the cylinder with 180 bar only since my tank should be refilled. I regulated the muzzle velocity at 890/s. I shot 5 mags till 120 bar with very little variation. Max 5-9 ft/s. This is incredible. I wonder how many mags i can shoot from 250 bar. This generation 4 regulator seems to work pretty well 🙂

And with the gun tuned to shoot 18gr at 880 fps, I find the 16gr very accurate at 50m with the same power setting
I would say 880 fps is a good one. The 18gr have a very high BC at that velocity. So 890 fps should be good. Are you unhappy with your accuracy results?

Can you please tell me why at 855ft/s i can shoot a 90 yards target with only 3 dots below the cross while at 890 ft/s to shoot at the same target i have to aim 5 dots below the cross? It doesn’t make sense!
