look in the hunting section shaggy i killed my first deer of the season for 2010 have u called the DNR offices to make sure u cant hunt with it thats how i got to hunt with mine our rule book says any caliber bigger than a .22 rimfire it doesent matter how the larger projectile is propelled
Don’t jump on me too bad here I don’t want to hijackthis thread, but those guns are good and have a good reputation.
The man behind the trigger is more important.
Here is a link all about the FPDS,, and it is how old timers done it,
A 22 short high powered shell will take out the Hog from the pen as fast as a 3006 LOLOL.
This was more common sense though.

I own virtually every gun mentioned in this discussion.
So these guys really says it all.
Just wanted to share it with you, because one of my old friends come over yesterday and I pulled out my 308 Corsair, and stood up a heavy treated 2X4 at 45 yards and when we went to see the 2X4 after the 115 grain hit it, I asked the Question.
“Would this gun in his opinion do a clean kill on a Deer since we both have used about everything known legally his reply was (No doubt in my mind).
But the problem was, It isn’t legal to use in the woods for any game at all accept maybe Raccoon.
😯 So that’s why I will use it here in my woods and not in a national forest, and I’ll use a damage stamp too. Easy to get here the Deer are all over the place. 😀 Love my Air Guns. 😛
I guess that would depend on the guy modding it.
I’ve never modded an airgun. I know that Leroy at BGMF has tuned a 909S to get around 320-360+fpe, and the 909 I have here that Leroy tuned gets four or so even shots at around 270-280+fpe. If you search my posts on this forum you can find some recent testing I have done. With a 21.5 or so inch barrel, the Samyang bigbores make for a nice compact coyote rig, that would also easily work for deer hunting out to 50-60 yards with the right slug.
Its growing really fast what is ur opinion on the 909 what kind of power can i get out of that on do it yourself mods
but the haley is just as good of a gun with same power range but cheaper from what i can find
Hell i might buy both of them and see which one is better then sell the one i dont like
I’ve never held, or shouldered a Haley rifle.
I’ve handled one of Leroy’s older .452 Gargoyle builds, and also shot Leroy’s original proto-type at a hog hunt in Oklahoma. Couldn’t get over how balanced and steady the walnut thumbhole stock that Leroy used was (this was one of the early Leroy builds a few years ago). The Gargoyle just feels solid and steady.
The single bolt design, built-in picatinny rail, and especially the accuracy of the Gargoyle was very impressive at around 400-470fpe depending on the slug and the pressure. I liked that the 28 or so inch barrel wasn’t way to long.
The bigbore airgun scene is definitely growing fast.
Randy tols me the story but yeah he took them back over and gonna be selling them from his own site

He no longer carries them i called to ask leroy took the gun back over from the guy that he gave the plans too
randy told me that he is making a gun similar to it that is gonna make 3 shots at over 700fpe he said it will be ready in 2 months .452cal
I asked him about the Haley guns he said i cant go wrong with them either he makes a good quality gun
so now im leaning more toward the Haley im gonna give him a call in the A.M.
Very interesting about Leroy taking back over on the Gargoyle. Hadn’t heard that.

80 GRIT, your 309.5 gr HP’s and 318.5 gr Flat points should be to you by Wednesday or Thursday for you to test.
Enjoy em as i have.
If you give Randy a call, he can get you one ASAP. I think he only puts the Gargoyle up on his site if he has one in hand. Unfortunately, the GargoyleAirgun site is down for consrtuction.
I checked on Randys site but couldnt find them
here is another ????? can the dragon slayer produce the power of the haley or the Gargoyle
No. The power on the Gargoyle is adjustable anywhere from about 300fpe, to 680fpe.
my brother in law thinks its stupid to buy a big bore airgun he thinks i should buy a blackpowder instead
but what the hell ive proved to him i can shoot the air guns better than he can shoot his 30-30 or any gun he has for that matter
BTW i have 2 black powder and there accuracy is shit compaired to my 9mm
thanks for all the replies guys

I know it don’t matter with a damage stamp, although you cant use a 22 caliber here either. But I’ll ,ake sure I’m leagal and up to date on it. Will find out befor November. 😀
Now I’m off to the hunting section to see your Prize.
