Used Haleys are popping up for sale on a regualr basis.

You could buy a .452 Gargoyle TODAY. Randy Mitchell at Adventures in Airguns sells them.

For Korean gun tunes, I suggest going with either Will Piatt, or Leroy at BGMF.

Man, those sound sweet. I have not had much chance to try mine yet, but I have a variety of different sized hollowpoints from Mr Hollowpoint (pricey), roundball, and Reba told me about those laser cast .459. Soon I will have a few more types to try out. Can’t wait 🙂

been running a variety of projectiles through it, haven’t noticed any real preference…mostly running light conicals
one that has been giving interesting performance is an antique mold that casts a very light conical with a mini ball style hollow base. Not even certain who made it, came with a percussion .45 bench rest rifle made in the late 19th century I had years ago.
those group very well and tend to turn nearly inside out on impact into ballistic gelatin, about .55 diameter using dead soft pure lead

Mine was around 930.00 shipped. I have not even had a chance to mess with it yet other than shooting off a few shots at some phone books and man, what a nasty exit wound out the back of those books 😡

It took a while for mine to be completed…but I think Jack had some health set backs…the best bet is to give them a call. You will talk with Reba. She is Jack’s wife. She is a kind gal who can get you going in the right direction. I don’t know if your timing will be good, however, as I think Jack took a bunch of orders for his new .58 cals…and I would imagine he will be busy building those. Doesn’t hurt to call and find out.

RS, yours looks pretty close to mine. What length barrel is that? What kind of bullets does yours prefer?

rj…you might try searching the Yellow classified as someone was selling a Haley .45 a week or three back for $650.00
dont recall it as having been marked sold
paid $600 for the one you see from Haley himself, was his personal rifle so it was slightly discounted

besides BigBore Bob there are a couple other fine folks that power tune Dragons & Sam Yangs
one is William Piatt who posts over on the yellow
the other is Long Island Bob who has been modding Korean guns andfd power tuning them for years
have had several of LiBobs power tunes…a Dragnon, a Sam Yang and a Sumatra.
You need to understand that due to a number of internal design factors you are limited as to what can be done to a Dragon. My modded one would cloverleaf .495 round balls at 50 yards running in the low 700FPS range which is smokin’ for a Dragon
You can get better FPE with mods out of the Sam Yang .45
my real advice is to just order one of Jack Haley’s hand built .45s
sold all the Korean Big Bores after I picked mine up…better piece all the way around and no cheesy Korean wood or pot metal breech.
By the time you mod up either the Dragon or Sam Yang you will have about as much as you would having just bought one of Jacks in the 1st place.

Hey 80, do u have a number or link for him what kind of price r we looking at also

Sold mine as I was dissapointed in it’s lack of power. I think I was getting around 200fpe. I know Bob gets them up higher I think around 300 (someone correct me if I’m wrong). It was an accurate rifle…but again, kind of lacking in power. Why not give Jack Haley a call and have him build you a big bore. My .457 hit 573 fpe with a 633 gr bullet. It will get 500fpe with a 400 grain.

If your going to have a big bore…might as well have power to boot, my 2 cents 😉

Here’s his website. You could probably send him an email and he’ll give you his number.

Thanks alot Sub any info will be greatly appreciated

Before you order one you need to call Big Bore Bob …..I don’t have his number on me but he is a wealth of knowledge in all sam yang guns….I will look up his info when I get home fore you or someone else will chime in no doubt….Greg
