Blame it on the war in Iraq
I just spoke to Kevin at Impactairgun.com regarding a shipment of pellets that I ordered. He, like PA has had them backordered for several weeks now. His supplier has informed him that the US Government has bought up nationwide, as many cases of these Kodiaks as they can find.
Seems for some months now, they have been being shipped over to our boys in the sand for massive rodent problems and control. Don’t know how true that may be but it sounds as logical as anything I’ve heard thus far as to why I can’t find a damned can of them anywhere lately……

I cannot think of ANY reason why an airgun would be used by the Military instead of an actual gun. Just doesn’t make sense.
Actually, I have read other stories that the US Dept of Agriculture have been using TSS’s on a regular basis to take out Vermin, rodents ect from the inside of buildings, using lasers most of the time. This is supposedly true.
I also figure if the Military, or Federal, or local agencies were to pick a air gun for certain things, you’d think the AF platform would fit the bill quite nicely, with the whole black, tacticle, breakdown abilities, good power ect.
imagine the surge of purchased AF’S if it was all true and show in the field of conflict.

I’ve heard those same things, condor’s being used by special forces for guard dogs and that type of thing. Like you said, never got anything verifying it, but it sounded cool. 🙂
I’ve read a couple of times on different air guns sites that AF guns are being used in Iraq and possibly other places for certain missions. I remember something about using them to discreetly take out street lamps for instance. None of this could be verified though.
I read on another site that the police/ATF have been using Condors to discreetly take out guard dogs before raiding drug houses as well, but again, nothing could be verified for sure. This all could be a bunch of BS for all I know, but these stories/rumours are out there.

I have to go with Tron on this one. There’s plenty of sub sonic rifles out there in calibre from 9mm to .308 which has the report of a ant fart while still packing a punch and being very accurate. The indoor vermin story might be possible but the rest is BS I think.
