Blodnob/Selph valve users. Which spring??
Wondering if some of you are using the hammer spring that came with the valve or the factory spring? I’m using the factory one still, the one sent was too heavy for me. I would like to have something a little bit heavier myself even though it shoots well like it is now in my stock SS .22. Me like power!

The springs I ordered from England where the same ones that Blodnob recommended to order, I am trying to find a spring in between the factory one and the heavy spring I included with the valves. I am thinking with the standard spring and a 125 gram hammer should do the trick I will be working on that today at the shop, finally got all caught up with work so I have some free time finally.
I suspect the stock US spring is somewhat stronger than the stock UK one in that case.
My stock spring in a 12″ barrel, Condor hammer weight, .22 Kodiaks, is pushing around 950 fps. with a nice shot curve.
WTF? 😯 Why would the spring need to be that hard? Blod’s valve over here pushes 1000fps+ real easy with both .22 and .25, and is cockable with one thumb with the spring he provides. Even with 30mm of spacer it’s not particularly hard to cock.
The Selph springs must be different than Blods. They are a 2 handed bitch to cock. I was very nervous reloading when I had it in my gun, thinking it would slip and take off my finger. I couldn’t imagine trying to reload in a hurry for a follow up shot. The O.D. on Selph spring is even smaller than the factory spring. 12 ft .lb. springs must be different than fac factory springs too.
I stand to be corrected but does the ss have that PW on it. If it does the spring will be harder to compress on theirs
I make my own valves but Blod gave me one of the springs he uses with his valves. It’s really not that heavy until you put spacers behind it. The stock spring, I guess it does the job for UK-spec 12fpe rifles but it really is a piece of shit. 😆

The heavy spring has been working fine in my and Pab’s rifles, and he’s put at least a couple of thousand rounds through his since fitting one.
I’d suggest the same as above.
The heavy spring will wear out your slide/knob in a heartbeat. All though I haven’t tried it yet, you could add some spacers to stock spring to add some compression weight to the release. It’s been talk about on here some where. A search will find you the info needed on spacer size. I’m looking at spring options and I believe Riffraff is already experimenting some with them. I’ll let you know what I find out as I have pretty much the same setup, .22 SS.
Just a word of caution to those using heavy hammer springs we use to have a lot of failures in the trigger components back in the day when they where used for the Condor valves.
Just something to keep in mind. IIRC those springs were 20# springs
