Q:

Bobcat price vs the Cricket. Is it worth it?

Hey all,

Opinions please. Now that the Cricket is being offered for nearly $750 less than the Bobcat .22 that is regulated is there any reason to even consider the Bobcat?

What would make the Bobcat worth that much more money than the Cricket.

Anybody with a Bobcat or both want to offer advice?

Thanks,

Paul

Ville,

Do you have any links to retailers that show the lower prices in Sweden…

This guy says it’s only a $200 difference.

You have a website that says otherwise right? :angrymob:

That guy is an idiot ! I see Triple Tree beat me to it with a link to Hurricane. Remember – those prices are incl. the Swedish VAT at 25%.

More snow is coming. 😆

quote Zonk:

I have both in .22 and I can honestly say they shoot the same group at 25 and 50 yards. I haven’t taken it further because the snow here in Ohio is up to my balls.
As soon as the weather breaks I’ll have the answer.

But $2000 vs the new Cricket price……you be the judge.

If bet Sir Ville will come home with a Bobcat, on Fredick :biggrinn: ….Just sayin

These are the times I wish I was on the Yellow, which at the same time it would probably get me banned.

The site he links to sells them for $1930.

The site 333 linked to sells them for $1500.

AoA sells them for $2000.

Wow, nothing like disinformation like the Yellow.

That guy didn’t look hard enough:

Some of the price differences are lower than others, but there are some $500 discrepancies in there when compared to AOA .

Fredrik Axelsson may make ugly “Bullpups” but he´s not stupid. I´m sure the LR barrel is made out of adequate steel for PB´s.

Are they made of the proper steel for a PB?

quote Sir Ville:

Everything FX seems to be crazy expensive over there so i quess you´re right. Doesn´t matter to us in Sweden though since FX is fairly priced here – and i´m sure the .22LR will be as well if it ever gets into production. Hell – you just gave me an idea : Test that ST barrel on my Quad ! Can´t be that difficult to make a fitting barrel for that. On the second thought my barrels are “Heavy” modell at 22 mm OD and i don´t know if the ST can be done on such porky OD. IDK nothing about the process of making them ST´s but i quess i´ll know everything about it soon enough.

Cool. I bet he doesn’t fix the looks and weight though. I am sure they both shoot better than me so that is a non-issue at this point.

I bet that .22 is pretty expensive.

I´ll be doing a real BC vs. Cricket test during the spring. I´ll get over to FX, with both my .25 & .177 to shoot at the FX factory inside range. I´ll get to shoot them back-to-back , both calibers , and thus be able to determine once and for all which one´s the better shooter of them two.
I ain´t joking – i got an invitation to do this and so i will.
If by some reason the BC outshoots my Bugs i may return home with a Beluga in the trunk BUT i´ll never admit that here IF it happens. 😳
Fredrik (Mr. FX) also shared some info that sounds very interresting – FX is working on a .22 LR Rimfire that will have the ST barrel. Oh boy …

I still like Ted’s Bobcat video in his SUV wrestling that big Bobcat in the front seat like a high school kid with his fat girlfriend before the prom. 😆

If your best friend’s fat sister saw that post, I don’t think you guys will remain friends lol.

Bobcats suck donkey apples. AOA is trying to do the same thing to Cricket prices. No it’s not worth it. They sell for half price in Europe b4 the VAT. That’s what they are really worth. I felt like I was hugging my best friend’s fat sister with my only experience with a 2nd gen Bobcat. I suppose if you wear blinders so you can’t see what your shooting and are a chubby chaser it might be ok if it was priced right. :darth-vader:

Not to me it isn’t. It’s an ugly carbine.
