Q:

Bobcat price vs the Cricket. Is it worth it?

Hey all,

Opinions please. Now that the Cricket is being offered for nearly $750 less than the Bobcat .22 that is regulated is there any reason to even consider the Bobcat?

What would make the Bobcat worth that much more money than the Cricket.

Anybody with a Bobcat or both want to offer advice?

Thanks,

Paul

No, not in my humble opinion.

A Bobcat in .22 or .25 with a regulator will be over $2k plus tax and shipping. Also, I have heard that the Bobcat is extremely loud without buying a shroud extension.

Bobcat ugly? Looks like a shaved dog’s ass.

My un-altered Cricket .22 gets 70 consistent shots, is adequately quiet, and drops squirrels with ease.

I must ask why someone would spend the extra money for no extra performance?

Then again, none of my business.

If you want your air tube connected to the gauge via a small tube by all means get the Bobcat.

If you want a huge stack of washers holding the gauge in place by all means get the Bobcat.

Personally, until AoA drops the price on the FX brand to ‘normal’ levels I wouldn’t buy anything with the letters ‘FX’ on it…

And until the price matches this kind of shit…. http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/thread/1389406096/Need+Help…Received+my+.25+Bobcat+with+regulator…

BTW, i’ll be in your neck of the woods this fall for the nats.

With a lot of researching done, both guns are greatly loved by owners. I went with the Cricket .22 due to the great price. The bobcat for me lacked sex appeal it’s just ugly to me. And If money were no object would would of went with the Matador cause of the curved butt end (sexier) and it being regulated.

Depends on your ego, and spendable personal treasury.

Both guns will out shoot your ability to achieve accuracy. Neither has shown any quality issues worth discussing. That might change five years from now…but since we are not psychic, we just have to assume they both work just fine, and will continue to do so, given reasonable care.

All personal preference remarks aside, they are both high end, high quality, foreign bullpups.

Unless you judge “Quality” purely on retail cost…flip a coin, because I don’t believe you will regret the purchase of either gun.

Hoot:

PS: There are those who may disagree, some strongly!…May I humbly suggest they eat shit and die!
