Bought a Condor
Got it off another forum, from one of your members.. although I am looking forward to shooting this gun, I’ve come to some conclusions about AirForce rifles after reading on this forum:
1. i paid $700 for a $350 gun
2. After I spend another $700 ( minimum.. ) I’ll have what a $700 dollar gun should be.
3. I don’t need to eat……….. 😛

I know the first groups are most likely not going to be your best, but hell, maybe allot of other guys are not going to be able to shoot any groups at all and look forward to seeing your progress, so let’s see what’s going on.

Feeling much better now i’ve found a fill source and got some shooting in. Waiting for some better pellets to come in before i post results, but YES I’m liking it!
These guns are simple, reliable, and easy to maintain. Want a new barrel? no problem. Want a new valve? no problem. What to adjust the power? no problem.
Pop22, it was definitely not the right approach. You just spoke BS before you even had the gun in your hands to evaluate it. You mentioned it was honesty you were looking for, but you did not ask in an honest way.. I think you still feel you paid too much $ for it, because you repeated that again in your 2nd post. All you had to do is say I got a Condor coming, who here thinks they are worth the $, or suck, or what are their shortcomings..? There are many ways to ask. People don’t have a reason to lie and say everything is great with their gun, if they are having issues with it.
All a Condor/Talon needs is a fill-adapter for your scuba or scba tank, and a scope like every gun, and you are all set. It sounds like this is your 1st PCP, so maybe by accessories you meant a SCUBA tank and hose, etc? That is an additional expense with every PCP.
You don’t need a bipod, or a laser, or a tri-rail (but it’s $28, big deal), or any fancy stocks or shoulder stocks. They are nice to have but noone is putting a gun to your head to buy those. I didn’t buy an adjustable shoulder piece for over a year after my 1st Condor, but I still shot straight..

If you feel the Condor is too much $ then take a look at the Daystates worth $2,500-3k or the Theobens. I know several people that had leaky valves not only on their $1,100 Walnut AA S410 but on $1,500 FX’s and $2-3K Airwolves too. I think I have read about 1 person on the TAG in 3yrs with a leaky valve on their ($600) Condor. Oh and the Condor is an American made PCP let’s not forget.

I received my Condor – stock – and shot the fly’s nuts at 50 yards with a number of pellet types. It’s the closest thing you’ll get to a 22 rimfire without breaking the bank.
Then you went on the yellow and trolled about it there too 😆
My post was based on information posted RIGHT HERE on this site, and was intended to bring out opinions from across the range of owners. My intent was not to be a troll. I bought this gun, and its now in my hands. It remains to be seen just how good it is. So far, the quality is actually better than i expected, so if it shoots as well as i think it will, i’ll be happy. So don’t get your panties in a knot, I posted as i did to get honest opinions, not a bunch of Ohh Gee It’s wonderful replies. I’ve read here about ill fitting parts and shoddy workmanship, as well as about how good the gun was. So if I brought out some truth at the expense a of a few ruffled feathers, then at least i know i got some honesty. Maybe it wasn’t the right approach, and if not, I apologize.

You don’t even have the Condor yet, and you start this thread by saying your overpaid for it, and that the quality is low on these guns, and totally not worh what we pay for them. How do you know? You have not even received it yet, let alone shoot it. You just wasted everyone’s time that were nice enough to type a response to try to help you figure out why you are unhappy with your purchase, and why you are saying those things.. but all you wanted to do was see how people would react. Not cool.
The Condor is the best gun you can buy for the $. You don’t have to do anything to it, but shoot it out of the box. You find a new PCP rifle for $600 with a Lothar Walther barrel and drop-in/bolt-on upgrades, 5min. barrel swap, with rails all around for accessories, etc. that put out 65+fpe from the factory, and come back to tell us about it. Better yet please don’t. It’s best to keep the secret to yourself. Your modded 2250 Crosmans are much higher quality and the better gun obviously.
You come in here looking to “stir up” trouble with ignorant comments like that, and you might just find it. I am usually one of the calmer posters here, and it takes a lot to “stir me” up, but apparently you have managed to do so. Not bad for a newbie..
You are most definitely going to kill stuff, i bet i had a 5 gal bucket of starlings and black birds the first week i had the condor. i was making kills at ranges that i did not think was possible. i could hit birds and such with my .177 M 48 RWS at ranges past 50 yards but most of the time they would fly, don’t know if they went down or not. The .22 condor will dump stuff right now, power and accuracy is unbelievable.
I have tuned my gun for the heavy pellets but i shoot 14 grain pellets in the 900’s mostly, and it is plenty powerful for birds and such, dont have any coon size critters around to dispatch, a feral cat occasionally ,but the 14 grain pellets at 980 or so is way more power than the .177 rws ever thought about laying down.
Ya know,i posted this just to see what I’d stirr up…lol And the damn thing is still in transit so I can’t actually judge it one way or another. I just want to get it can shoot it! And maybe kill something……….. 😈

Not sure why you think a condor is an expensive gun.
I was looking for a gun with enough power to kill raccoons.
Before I bought mine I did some research and actually found it was the least expensive gun that could deliver that much power. Definetly the most bang for the buck.
My condor is bone stock and shoots straight as a whip with the right fill pressure and pellets. It still outshoots me. If im off target most likely I pulled the shot. I dont shoot paper , dont use a bypod, vise or a bench.
I didnt buy a condor to punch paper, I bought it to kill pests and it sure does that.
Besides when you buy an airforce rifle you get all the info on this site for free 😀 Thats worth 700 dollars alone.

I bought a Talon SS and did not change a thing for years and it worked just fine. Make sure everything is tight and clean and it will work fine. When you want to alter it then it will cost some $$
But most AF guns are never modified and shoot without problems
