Bought used Condor what is wrong with it
This Condor shoots like shit, I am pretty sure the hammer is dragging on the sear by the looks of the hammer, should I grind the sear down? Someone has been into the trigger housing and it also has a two screw trigger job, I turned the screws back out a ways to see if I got any more consistancy, it did,, but as ussual it jumped 60 to 80fps. in one shot. I’ve tried 3 tanks same thing, if the hammer has alot of cuts on it would that cause that much drag? I took it apart as soon as I got it cleaned it and noticed the sear marks on the hammer right off, has anyone ever had to grind the sear down before?

I’ll run another string with my tank on another gun, and we will see.
I have an extra strong spring, was thinking of putting that in, so wham that thing will be flying. I guess I just don’t want to take the trigger parts out.
In my opinion only, all your problems are in the valve and top hat. My Talon valve , like yours, works great every time. I had 2 hi-flow tank that shoot almost as bad as yours.
I am not selling anything, but, I got a couple of the 1 piece top hat and stems from TT and they seemed to have helped a lot. I also went to a lighter spring in the valve. It shoots pretty consistent now, but sometimes, for no apparent reason, it spit out a couple duds or when tank is getting low it throws out a whopper.
Don’t give up, we can fix this.

IV shaved mine down quite a bit and changed the angle a little and it breakwater very go. And I have a way stronger spring and it will stay cocked with out a proble. Also I did a fingernails test when I polished it where any part that touches the hammer I ran across my nail to make sure it didn’t scratch my nails. But all my corners on the inner trigger parts that touch are sharp. And when I say I trimed the triangle part I took off like half.all this and some other stuff got my trigger to be pritty dam good. And it stooped the scratches on the derlin.

see what I mean now that is a POS.. Andy maybe I should of shot more the last 3 numbers where good but it seems to do that it shoots good alittle then blam faster then hell one. Were the old Condors that bad on consistancy or do I have something else, the steel on the old hammer had scratches all accross it, top-hat is set to .078 I was thinking of moving it to like .070 and give her a try.
I’m going to start the day out writing first ,of course, it is only about 800 here for you early birds on the east coast, and I doubt this will fix it, I’m thinking someone put a spring in the wrong place or a stronger spring in under the sear or maybe the safety is doing something, anyway you should know in the next hour or so, my bet is it is going to shoot worse with the new hammer in it.
What are you going to do, sleep all day? It’s almost 9:30 and still no report on how the cleanup went.
I was never a big backer of the 2 screw trigger mod, I thought it put to much restriction on the interned movement of the trigger components.
So, I’m waiting to hear what cause was and is it even fixed yet. My Talon will take a fit every once in a while and do the same thing, but without hammer dragging.

Just tore it down again put in new spring, hammer, and polished the hell out of the riding chamber, filed the sear some too, grafite lube, so we will see tomarrow if it works yet.

Before you do the trigger stuff just yet, I would make sure you have your breech slide on the inside and the necked down area on the barrel where the breech slides, lube really well with silicone grease.
I have had love hate and hell when the breech doesn’t slide well on the barrel, the impact from the hammer is not all transferred well… Then you add the delrin breech, which I am not much on them either, for they absorb alot of the impact from the hammer. Sure they are quiter, but if the noise of aluminum breech is a problem, you can always add something to help with that a little.
Now the trigger stuff is a PITA when its all messed up. My Condor from new was all FUBAR’D… I ended up just making my own trigger parts to fix mine. Cut them from stainless and they have been wonderful compaired to the OEM stuff anyway LOL…
Good luck with all this, just be way careful when messing with all this as you can get the gun all jicky and have it fire off when you least expect it, then you can also have the rifle not fire at all LOL, there is a fine line in between…
