Q:

BP conversions with Edgun stocks copied

I know imitation is sincerest form of flattery but this is taking it a bit far( IMHO) to almost duplicate someone else’s BP stock design for sale. Aren’t Eds stocks made in Spain? Same maker or great copy?

The butt plate transition looks strange to me, also the part just before the butt plate looks overly chunky. A rip off and a poor one at that.

For being ‘hand built’ those things look pretty machine made and the same.

Not sure if i’m totally on board with this type of near exact copying of someone’s design… There are tons of ways to make it cool and different, to do a near exact replica is a total cop out. Doing it this way will only hurt what would otherwise be a good selling project, why limit the number of sales possible?

Shit, all someone has to do is ask and i’d gladly design a kick ass bullpup stock for a MRod… :8:

If you would consider this as a factory replacement, you’re only making your EdGun ugly and giving good money to a lazy fuck. I’m cool with making a copy for one’s self if the stock is otherwise unavailable (or ask for permission to make sellable copies), there is no better way to learn to make things if you do not know how. But to sell it and sell it without ONE SINGLE nod to the original designer? Lazy. Weak. Wrong.

Also i’m not sure it will even work for an EdGun. The MRod is a straight tube 1 1/4″ diameter inlet with a cutout for the trigger group, very, very different then a Matador 1 7/16″ diameter inlet which has a special part for the forward clamping area that supports the air tube but not the trigger linkage wrap around band. I’m sure it could be modified to work but the mod would not be pretty. I’ve made enough things from wood and metal to understand what would be involved.

The last few photos in this MRod inletting thread show the way this stock would be set up… http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/thread/1362882669/Stock+Making+101+-+Inletting

They’re not GINB. Maker is someone else

They said its a GINB stock$$$

Will do 😉

Let us know what he says. I’d like one for my MRod.

Well I emailed the seller from Spain and asked for a price on the painted stock. Like the ones from the r2.5…if its a good price ill order one and mill out what needs to be in order to have it fit the edgun.

Agreed it would be nice to be able to get replacement stock from Ed if something happend. However I get that its a smaller, hands-on operation and large parts are priority for completed guns.
Besides these aren’t cut for Edgun action. I’m sure he could. Be nice to know price as an option.

Granted it sucks that its almost an edgun…BUT!!!….for those that have been wanting a replacement stock or an extra atleast there’s someone we can get it from..Ed leave us out to hang if anything happened to our original stocks…with no option to order another…..while this guy may be ripping off a look atleast it’s an option for a spare part.
