Q:

Bullmaster… Semi Auto Bullpup

Surprised no one has mentioned this here, unless I’ve just missed it.
Sure, it looks ..well… reminds me of an old Army term for a fuel can spout… it’s positively horrid looking.

But… if it will deliver on the 50 shots a fill and good accuracy with reliable semi auto for under a grand… hell yeah.

Guess I’ll find out tomorrow. :8:

I do. I’ve been shooting it every week. I’m amazed at the shot count on it. I’m getting an easy 70 shots on a fill with no change in POI out to 50 yards. I’ve not chronied a full string, but hey if I’m not getting POI changes out to 50, that’s good enough for me.

I do have one of the three magazines that will give me a misfire on the first shot on occasion, but it’s relatively rare and the other two mags are rock solid. Aside from the rare first shot on that one mag, I’ve had zero issues out of the semi auto function.

My opinion hasnt changed on this gun after owning it for a while.
It’s dependable
It gets a ton of shots
It’s accurate
It’s heavy, but balances well
the trigger is not good, but smoothing out a ‘little’.
and…
it still is quite possibly one of the ugliest guns on the market right now.

I do note that Kral has a new Semi auto I noticed on their site that uses the same technology and it looks FAR better. Depending on the price of the Kral (if it ever comes to the US), I would take a look at it. The new crop of Kral’s are pretty much copies of other guns so I’m not sure if they’ll be offered here or not.

Do you still have it and if so how is it doing?

Stretched it out to 67 yards today. Found that I could run 4 mags through it with no change in POI at that distance at least. 48 shots. Was grouping well for me at that range as well. Still no failures on the semi auto. Still hasnt gotten any prettier, though.

Thanks for the advice on maintenance, all. I’ll be sure to keep things clean in it.

Yah, keep it clean …… a true semi auto requires a bit more time in the maintenance department.

I clean out my FX Revo back draft tube after every 5 tin or so.

Yeah, once I determine if I’ll be keeping it, I’ll start trying some things out on it… would love to put a carbon fiber tank on it and perhaps some other bits, but I dont want to screw with the warranty until I determine reliability.

Those piston in a shroud semi-autos usually jam after enough lead dust and flakes has collected inside the piston system. Give it a tin or two of dirty pellets and see if it still works after that.

It wouldn’t take much to ad a piece to close that trigger guard gap.

Lead….. I forget what the operating pressure is as stated in the manual, but perhaps I’ll find out real world this weekend.

GKU… Thank you, sir… I’m enjoying it so far!

Acourvil and Manny…. Thinking that even with an open guard the trigger is so bad that it wouldnt be much of a safety issue..haha. It will group, so the trigger isnt bad enough to muck with accuracy too much, but I have to say the trigger is not good.

….and yes. I dont think anyone will argue the point that it looks rather funky.

Do you need to keep those connecting plastic bits, ….or can you cut them off ?

The open trigger guard looks like a safety issue even with the connecting bits – I definitely wouldn’t make the trigger well completely open

Yeah, that stock is definitely a funky design

Cool Bullmaster u got there Rob !

Semi’s are great tool for mass kills when I don’t or forget to go to the farm in over a week.
I have a FX Revo 22 cal, not sure about the weight but it’s a long gun and only like to shoot it bagged off of my tail gate so it’s not to bad then.

If it’s like a monsoon I wouldn’t shoot if the pressure is below 1500psi or it will blow a breech seal

How does the semi-auto work then? Is there a piston in the shroud like FX Monsoon has or does it take air from the transfer port like Steyr?

I’ve not taken it apart, but I saw a video where that it’s a piston in the shroud like the Monsoon. I hope it’s more reliable. I’ll be testing several pellets this weekend and running a lot of air through it so we’ll see.

At 10 lbs. plus , I would not want to take this gun into the field for hunting , really heavy for a gun that is only maxed at
.22 caliber . As a bench rest gun that it was design for , what type of field blind set-up shooting would it be best suited
for ?

I guess it’s all subjective. I just don’t find it to be that heavy. I’ve carried big heavy springers out in the field, too. In no way am I saying this is the be all end all of airguns… everyones needs are different. For me, it fills a niche and is accurate and fun.
