Q:

calling Sir Ville

others with the vulcan.
lets brain storm over the vulcan……..
after talking with you Ville & u thought that the noise from the vulcan may be from the hammer slap on the valve face.
and not from a ping from the air tube, then a depinger is not going too help us.

well that got me thinking, what if we tryed a rubber o-ring on the valve face too soften the blow of the hammer on the valve face, what do u think? 🙄

Guys use that trick too flatten out their shot string, it acts as a poor man’s reg.
i use it on one of my guns now, but u loose some power, but that depends on how many o-rings u use.

max out the power, too make up for it ,and maybe quite down the slap, what do u think? 🙄

I bet Hoot didn’t know there are 3 types of current…A/C…….D/C….. and last…..Pussy. They’ll ALL give you a charge!

Nope. I refuse to turn to the American way of setting the reg. The Udu season is upon us so i need the familiar way of settings.
FYI – the reg is set at 120B from the factory – or between 40-45J energy depending the weight of the Pellet. They too refused the odd 110 or 130 setting and went for even 120. Good “Lads” …

quote Sir Ville:

The reg is well set at the factory, at least for 40-45 J /full power.

Vildo-Meister….I doubt you are aware of this, but 40-45 Joules is equivalent to the European standard of 220-240 volts/AC. Were you to shoot this gun, whilst standing in water, you could be electrocuted!!!

I strongly suggest you lower the regulator’s Joules to a more user friendly 130 bar (110/120 volts/AC – American Standard Voltage). Unless you are hunting Springbok, or mature Udu, it’s only sane to keep power at a level more appropriate to your local use.

Thank you for your kind attention.

The reg is well set at the factory, at least for 40-45 J /full power.I never fill over 220B and i usually fill to 200-210ish. No use to fill over 220 anyways since it´s just a waste of air. It will gulp at least double the amount air/shot from 250 B down to 220 than it does under 220. That´s a fact. I haven´t adjuted the reg at all since it shoots so well as is. I could adjust it, together with the valve tension to get few more shots/fill but i haven´t done it since i haven´t really had the time yet.

Great shooting ville,
post how your parts work out 4 u.

and yes i still need your humble guidance and photographer skills.
need all the help i can get!

what fill bar r u using, i’ve been trying 250-260 bar 4 around 66-70 shots or so.
hav u messed with your reg at all?

the valcan reg seams too be set better out of the box, as to the cricket.
see that what u r seeing also
thx 😯

I use both 16gr & 18gr JSB’s. The jury is still out which is the better of those two. I buy them in tins of 500 and pay around 12 USD / tin. If i buy 10 tins at a time the price drops to around 10 bux/tin.
Never had a pellet that outshoots JSB or it’s branded varieties like AA, FX etc in neither LW nor CZ barrel. The Vulcan has a CZ barrel and i’m beginning to think the newer CZ barrels outshoot the LW’s.

That’s sime decent shooting, wow. Sir Ville, you have the FAC version, right?

Yes. I have.

Have you found any pellets that work best for you? Brand…shape…weight??? How much do you pay there (in American dollars) for a tin of 200 each?

It’s a great BP. Very accurate.

Nice shooting Ville! Man, if a .25 will shoot like that, I’ll have one for sure! That is awesome!

BTW – Did you get the trigger sorted or do you need my humble guidance and photographer skills ?? There´s loads of parameters that can be adjusted on the Vulcan. You can get it exactly as you want it. Everything, and i mean everything is adjustable.

BTW – here´s a couple of targets i shot a week ago or so while trying out the JSB Heavies. The first one is 11 shots (a mag) at 50meters. I pulled two shots highest up (actually farthest left on the pic) but if i didn´t the 11 shot group would´ve been easily under 1/2″. The second target is shot at 70 meters/ 6 shots. I did the shooting with a MTC Viper Connect 12x so it wasn´t upto par with my weary eyes. Especially not on the 70 m target. I normally need at least 24x for 50m BR and even more at longer ranges. The Connect is one sweet scope on a Bullpup, nevertheless..

The one who hears it is the shooter since you have your Ear against the hammer housing. The noise coming out of the muzzle is nothing. A De-Pinger could help since the noise travels / resonates thru the hollow AT. I´m pretty sure a DP would quiet the Ping a great deal.
I have a friend who´s making me some delrin inner/outer guides for the HS and i´ll try them at first. I don´t know about an o-ring by the valve seat – try it and if yours don´t explode i´ll try it too !

Interesting i’ve never owned one, not sure how loud it was.
but the slap of the hammer is not real loud, the videos by Sniperqty with him shooting his gun you can not hear it
at all.

:hoot:

We tried that years ago with the AF guns. Tony even made hammers with a rubber buffer on it. They never seemed to catch on. I glued a rubber piece on my hammer face. It changed the sound but didn’t really work all that well. Perhaps others have had better luck…but I never see anyone talking about them anymore, so I guess the return on the investment of labor and cost wasn’t worth the result.
