Can the Cricket be pumped up from zero pressure?
Some airgun’s valve need a burst of HPA to seat the valve and henceforth cannot be filled from zero pressure using a hand pump, is the cricket like this? I need to know before I depressurize it. Thanks

Can the Omega Compressor fill straight to the Cricket or do I still need to purchase a tank?…I think I ruled out the air pump…
RL Airguns it is a little closer to home and I can’t stand AoA ! I’m glade I waited I never liked the Shoe Box set-up very much. As soon as I get the bill from Steve at WWAG for my Colibri, I’m coughing up the $1800.00 for one too.
Thanks gents, Mahalo !! :8:

I would have bought one from Randy since I know him pretty well if he had them when I bought it. Oh well. :suprisedn:

For now I think it is another exclusive contract AOA has secured who resells them to PAG and others. I would suspect that Raptor Pneumatics may sell them for other uses (paint ball, etc.) under another name but so far it seems like AOA/PAG has taken every one they could supply with a continuous backlog. One might think that the $1800 compressor market would saturate at some point. Of course I said the same for BPs and it seems like it never happens.

Besides AoA and Precision Airguns who else sell the Omega compressor in the US ?

Donny, how about a review of your new Omega when you get some time on it? Lucky, Lucky DOG!!!

Ah man, if I could go back I would just start off with a tank rather than pay $300 something for a hill and let it sit there or sell for a lot less. If you can easily access a dive shop, I would definitely get a tank. You’ll enjoy these guns a lot more. Once you hit 190 bars on the hill pump, best to eat your wheaties and you’re going to need a whole stick of deodorant!
Once you get a tank, you’ll most likely invest in a some sort of compressor in a year or two. Going to the the dive shop gets old too, and that’s where I am in life 🙂 Got my Omega compressor last Thursday but didn’t know I had to buy a male to male adapter to hook to my tank. Should be here tomorrow.
Just my :2cents: if you want to shoot tins after tins. If not then a Hill Pump might work for your needs. I have one barely used if you’re interested :biggrinn:
130-210 bar, 110 pumps, 25 x 4 let rest to cool down 5 min in between ~ about 25 min to top off.

As I am new to air guns, I haven’t selected how I fill fill my air gun…right now I just stop by the local dive shop and let them fill it up until I make a decision. The carbon fiber are expensive and I was looking at the hill hand pump. I read on the forum it takes about 5 minutes from 110 bars to 220. How many hand pumps is this? And how hard to pump up. I saw on youtube one person using a 2×4 as leverage to pump up his air gun! thanks
I think same trick used already Sniperqty in one of his video… 💡
When testing (adjusting) the reg I’ve seen someone temporality install a large dowel into the air tube ahead of the reg to take up the volume in order to help save on air.
Any thoughts on this ?

Yes it can be done, with 2 adjustment:
1. increase fill rate on fill/check valve
2. increase valve stem spring tension.
Cock before pumping.
If you’re going to keep zeroing, and either fuxing with it or adjusting the reg., a tank, filled at a shop, will make life tons easier. I use Hill pumps and fill even the big bottle guns from empty, but that initial fill sucks; it takes time to cool off the pump. Once you’re just topping the guns off (off reg to max. efficient fill), it’s usually about 5 minutes at a relaxed rate. How your body is built and what kind of shape you are in makes a ton of difference, as well as technique. However, once you start experimenting, taking the guns apart and draining them, you’re tilting the balance strongly towards tank-filling, for expediency, if not for comfort.
Since I don’t yet own a compressor and tank setup, Ernest gets the tune job, saves a lot of time, plus he does the polish, change worn o rings, etc. He has regulator testing devices that use small amounts of air, off the gun. Pumping by hand just to waste it by emptying the tank does not sound wise. Pumping by hand to charge the gun so you can kill squirrels is another matter 😀

Yes you can, it comes with a quick disconnect that you could fit the fill probe into. Set the desired air pressure and you’re all set. If the cost is an issue, people over in the Yellow are talking about the compressor that Mike from Mrodair is offering. If you happen to have leftover spaghetti, it comes with a Tupperware  J/K, just taking jabs for fun Mike, but that is how they are able to keep some of the cost down. If I didn’t have my Omega already, it would have been a likely option for me.
