How we doing with this project?
Its a 54 – Just finished the shroud today, painted the aluminum end cap black and sprayed the entire shroud with Matte clear coat to subdue the shinyness somewhat.
Yellow Ninja is that an RWS? if so 48,54 which one. The looks sweet!!!!! 😀
You can lightly sand, or bead blast the CF and it will have a duller more matched look to our frames.

My new lathe was backordered also. I just spoke to the shipping dept. this morning and they said I will have it by this wednesday. I ordered it the begining of Feb. they screwed up and did not put it on last weeks truck. They offered me a discount to try and make it right, but that does not get me my lathe any quicker.
I have been using my coworkers lathe to try different baffle designs. availibility to his lathe is slim, It is set up in his parents basement. As soon as my lathe arrives, I should be able to start.

Always hated the look of naked CF, but if it takes paint ok, CF all the way! Naked CF on the end of a Talon/SS/Condor just makes it look like a BB gun. And these ain’t no BB guns 😆
I use carbon because I can… I get tubes out of the scrap bin for free occasionally.
CygnusX pros/cons pretty much right on the money.
Its tougher than hell, doesnt stay bent if you have an accident but once it does break it stays broke. Having said that if you break a carbon tube when its attached to your rifle, you have probably ruined the rifle.
I will add that the finish is a bit shiny for AirForce guns, but the stuff is very hard to put a mark on. Once it is scratched though its hard to hide.
It accepts paint very well, and if you dont like it Acetone will clean it off pretty easy.
I know this much. I like the ones that slip in and match the outside diameter of the frame. So that it looks “butted up against” Vs. “slipped into” the frame. Now if someone could make one that had rails on it to match the frame…….Wow!
