Yes you can. But China “does not” recognize U.S. patents. Who would have thought!

But, but, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery… 🙄

Can you patent a knife? 😕 😯

Rick is a friend of ours, and I don’t appreciate this shit! 👿

Just recieved a Hinderer from China. It is really good looking and super sharp! Have a look here: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-Shipping-New-arrival-HINDERER-XM-18-with-D2steel-blade-black-G10-Titanium-alloy-handle-folding/699726280.html

I have been a fan of Benchmade auto knives since they first came out. I had a close friend who was vice president of marketing for Benchmade and I used to trade my homemade 1880’s leather gear to him for knives. I then sold the knives to the local State troopers, at a good discount ,who loved them.

As a result I went through perhaps 25 of them.

In 2006 I was traveling in Thailand. At the friendship border with Mynamar, odd title as they exchanged artillery fire on a regular basis, at a flea market sort of setting there was a Benchmade auto. A close inspection revealed that it was a knockoff, complete with the markings indicating the steel, ATS34 if I remember correctly, except Benchmade markings were not on the knife.

I bought it carried it for a while and eventually gave it to a Thai friend before flying back to Bangkok to send my daughter back to the states.

Now that Benchamde knife sold for $150 bucks in the good old USA, my price from my friend was 75 bucks, I bought the one in Thailand for 8 bucks and I have to tell you it was as good mechanically and visually as any Benchmade I ever carried or sold. How the steel would hold up to the original, I have no idea, being as there was a noticable lack of Rocky Mountain elk present in Thailand, I did not test it. 😆

I had at the time never seen them here and I never saw another in Thailand or Cambodia or the Philippines, and I bought a lot of switchblades to carry in all those places, I just threw them away when I went to the airport. I do see them here now and then but they seem to be inferior to the one I bought in Thailand, so someone is smuggling in a inferior knock off of the knock off in.

I’ll bet that Mick and Rick Love that! 👿

So does anyone else think some people put “Made in America” on their Chinese made computers just so they do not feel like hypocrites?

I do not know who is buying these Chinese Knock offs of the Airforce guns but I would not be surprised they sell in locations that the AF products are not distributed to.

The chinese also sell knock offs of High end folding knives like Strider and Hinder. They are so close and the quality is so good even the Owner of Strider Knives had a hard time recognizing it as a knock off.

They are getting better all the time in quality control.

Maybe this will kick Airforce in the pants to switch gears and innovate so the Chinese have to play catch up and are always one step behind..

This thread is proof we have way too much spare time.

😥 hows that no im crying

Moon lit walk. Pictures or it didn’t happen! 😆

It like watching old men arguing who dentures are better 😛

No one has cried yet so I guess the TAG is getting soft in its old age 😀
