got her the other day…scoped it up…pumped it up….took it out back to see what the condor is all about…placed a kodiak in on low power…flicked the safety…and whamoo…she fires!!!…Whoa Im thinking what did i do was the trigger caught up on something…repeat…7 more times it fires from the safety catch!!! Called PA…Nonchalantly..”Oh thats has happened a few times with the condor”…Hey man no big deal just send out a freekin powerhouse .25 with THAT kinda problem…Thank goodness it did not go to someone who just happened to take the safety off for the first time while pointing it in the wrong direction…….WTF!!! “Yea man send it back and we will send you out another one in two weeks” That’s where I’m at…..not cool..not cool at all….

There is nothing safe about a safety like the one on these rifles. I am about to take the plunge and attempt to disable mine. I have never taken my Talon down that far and am hesitant to start. But I need to just do it. I guess all that has to be done is knock the pin holding the safety bar, remove the bar, and replace the pin? Can someone please point me to a link for this procedure if one is available?

AirForce is playing with fire, or should I say “misfire” with this safety issue. I just picked up a .22 Condor and after less than 50 shots, The safety took over the job of the trigger. Now that a bunch of folks are complaining, there is the issue of “negligence in correcting a known problem”. Safety mechanisms are easy to design, so there’s no excuse. Maybe they’ll realize, after a costly lawsuit, that it’s cheaper to be responsible.

I sent the gun back for exchange and will keep pestering AirForce with the added expense of fixing the gun. Meanwhile, I’ve got an old RWS 48, which has never failed me. Can’t be without a weapon to fight the rodents.

a situation COULD have unfolded that changed air rifle laws forever…a richochet off a subsurface rock catches some 19 year old in the neck or something like that, spreads like wildfire thru the internet and the legislators pounce like feral cats!!!!

i wonder how many pending lawsuits would be levied upon AF if the shooter wasnt held responsible for the rifles aim when the safety shat itself? they obviously could give two shits about the consumer, as this problem is WELL documented…let the buyer(and his neighbor) beware…

STICKBOW FOR VICE PRESIDENT ❗

I’d feel safe shooting alongside Stickbow any day and we have never met.

CONGRATULATION ON SAFE RIFLE HANDLING ❗

ouch yeah take that safety off. Surprised AF has been publicly ridiculed like Remington was.

yep, that “safety” is a piece of shit. wonder how hard it would be to come up with an AR-15 type to block the trigger. that would really fit with the overall look of the gun.

Stickbow,

That is why knowledgeable Condor users take the safet completely off.

THen when we are hunting or shooting, instead of using a safety, we lower the hammer with the trigger while holding the breech and letting the hammer return to the fired postion carefully.

When we want to shoot something, we just recock the Condor and shoot.

Much safer, if it is not cocked it will not fire. Just too many issues with that safety.

Glad you knew to use a gun safely as far as where you had that muzzle pointed.

Regards,

Roachcreek
