Condor Power Wheel/Settings Not Working – Need Help
I have to say I love this gun. It’s a .22 Condor that is stock and only four months old. I originally purchased it with the CO2 but have recently switched to the high flow Condor tank. I’m shooting JSB exacts 18.1gr. The problem is the Condor Power Wheel when adjusted is not making any difference according to my recently purchased Chrony.
I filled my tank and shot 10 shots at power level 12 and the results are below

The High Flow Condor Tank is 45 days old. The tank is always filled to 3000psi

eddie if you want a tighter string , fool around with the power wheel at 3 to 4, and fill to 2100 to 2200, your string will tighten up and i imagine your groups will too. but you sacrifice shot count. this is for tying for the tightest groups of course. i always set up like this for trying for the tightest groups then if i want to do some hunting or plinking all you have to do is fill a little higher for shot count.

Hbz2002 there has been some great suggestions on here for you from Roachcreek,Savagesam, and 07Condor22, Your strings are really good and like the power wheel it is what some have called a preload! but it should be doing a bit more than it is doing IMO, so maybe a tad weak or short spring call Airforce and tell them it is out of specs to send you a new one I am sure they will, that will tell you if there was a problem with yours! I have a Condor internals are stock I fill to 2400 or 2600 for 18 gr JSB and I start out at around 995 and shoot down to 920 or so with a desent string of 25 shots, power wheel on mine I have found the best to be at a setting of One, I am in the process of testing an oring I put one on the other day just to see how far my fps dropped and it was at 890 with a 1/16 inch thick oringand my top hat is set at .086, so I am going to mess with my top hat adjustment and get it to around 930 and do a shot string I think it will do very well!

oh ok, the breech comes all the way back to the top hat no matter where the top hat setting is. i always pull the breech all the way back and push to the left every time. and the orings hold it there.
IF you have the top hat at a very small gap the top hat will contact the brass behind it at the shot and cause consistency problems, and erratic fps readings, and i was seeing shots throw off to the side from the contact .maybe this is where that comes from.
No problems here. I just remember reading some say you shouldn’t have any slop/gap between breech and top hat.

never heard of one. why would you want one, i have shot with my top hat all the way down to .025 with out any issues with the gap at the breech. as long as your orings are in good shape you should not have a problem.
Powderburner, do you know of an adjustable length breech? I think the idea could work.
Here is my set up for 24” condor everything polished and condor valve modded ,to put the 18 g. jsb in the low to mid 900’s,
fill 2000 to 2100 , this is for 20 shots with greatest consistency, or a little more pressure on the fill for shot count. top hat at .073 with oring , .075 to .080 with out, power wheel 3to 4.

Is there such a thing as a threaded breech (To make it longer to take up slop) or some sort of spacers to put on the T.H.? That way you could set your T.H. gap where you want it and still not have any slop.
You no RC ,I have my tophat low on my .20 and to compensate for the slop,I got rid of the plastic thing on the cocking knob bottom and put strips of black tape there and polished the cut in where you pull the knob over so the metal wasn’t sharp anymore cause it was tearing up the tape before.
I bet the tophat gap is .05 or less.
But I would be happy as a clam with that performance right out of the box.
Before you adjust anything. Write down all pertinent info. (top hat, fill pressure, power wheel setting, pellet weight etc.) I agree the velocity is low, BUT, Damn consistent. My suggestion (ASSuming you WANT to mess with it) set the P.W. in the middle, set the T.H. to .070, fill to 2500 and see what you get. You should be over 1K.
If he told us he had just gotten the ETACREG with a shot string like that, we would all say,”good shot string” 😆
That is a little low in velocity, but it is so consistant.
Shooting birds, with that Talon valve in my Condor, the first few shots were squirrely, once I got down below 1000FPS I started knocking the snot out of them.
But I started out at 1030 FPS at 3000 PSI with the Talon valve and the top hat set way out, which I do on all my rifles, to ensure there is no play between the Top hat and breech.
And with the the Condor valve I got 1130 with the 18 grain Exacts, which of course is counter productive in the accuracy department ,and just indicates I need a heavier projectile.

This would be my guess, is a weak hammer spring. @ power wheel setting of 12, the hammer spring is compressed and the hammer should hit the tophat hard and release more air as the valve should remain open longer than with
a power wheel setting of 1 where a more relaxed hammer spring and softer hammer strike of the tophat should cause the valve to release less air to push the pellet slower out the barrel.
Time to call Airforce and use a bit o Warranty, if you modify the gun, warranty is voided.
Call Airforce and follow their instructions? Airforce has an Iron clad warranty.
