Q:

Condor SS with E teC

Guys,

Just got my E teC mounted on the 900cc tank and put all together on the Condor SS of mine… Daaaayuuummmm!!! This thing is going to be awesome to say the least…

I cut the neck of the new larger tank 5 degree’s from its square. This to be able to roll cant and cast to the Condor for a better fit… Right now you will see I have the military peep sights I have made to fit… I love the peeps… Its not like a great scope to ID things you may or maynot want to squeeze a round off at… But. they are so fun to shoot…

Anyway, I failed to get a PIC of the OEM tank beside the new 900cc I now have but I will get that tomorrow when I have more time. Heck it got dark on me anyway and it was hard to get the PIC’s as it was…

Anyway, here are a few of the setup with all my blacksmithed parts I made and installed on this rifle with the exception of the EteC… My stuff is no where the quality of the EteC, but its my on fault as I use a hammer and anvil to pound all this stuff out and hand file to fit LOL… Don’t laugh it does work… Some of the stuff I did take AF goodies that was not going to work for me at all, took parts off that I could use and then fab up other stuff to make fit and work out…

This next one shows the cast a little, best I could get in the dark anyway… I may have to roll the tank a little more, just not sure as this was a fast fit up for now…

The above shows the cover cap for the quick fill I found to fit nicely, got to love junk draws LOL… Bottom is off and ready to fill…

Last one for now guys… Hate that I forgot to get one of the OEM tank beside this bigger one… I may just go back into the dark and see if I can get one for you guys to compair, so you can see how much bigger it is…

Many thanks to Jim, for the EteC. It got me the space to allow the larger tank that has the neck wider and was going to need some clearance with something to clear the bottom and top side of the frame at the back where it screws up to the breech end… This was perfect…

Thanks again Jim!!!

Edit: Here is a few of the two different tanks…

Eddie,

Thanks for your comments on my Condor SS… Now lets address your questions-

I have one more mod to the frame of my Condor I am going to do, but its not such an issue now, as I don’t use the super strong hammer springs as I once did. I do still plan to address the frame on this rifle, but not from the view that my side out option I did to it… I really don’t thing the area of the frame where I chewed the slot made any issue to concern myself…

I just like to use a small screw with a teflon bushing where the OEM bolt handle was, It helps the bolt stay indexed and smoothes out the direction and path of it when released… I still need to make the teflon bushing for the new side out bolt…

Those allen head cap screws and the set screw you see there in the frame is to help anchor the tank threads to the frame… Again it was something I had get all messed up on my Condor right after I bought the rifle. The set screws AF use was not tightened well enough and it soon was pushed out the frame making a mess… I addressed it like this to make sure it never would be an issue ever again LOL… Yelp they were drilled into the threaded bushing just shy of getting in the way of the tank threads, then the set screws and cap screws were installed with Red loctite…

Laterz

Rowdy in your opinion did milling a slot in the side of your condor weaken the frame at all? also is there a reason there is a bolt still in the breech where the cocking handle used to be, and what are the two button head allens for and the set screw by the top hat on the outside of the frame? Oh yea nice set up on the tank and gun. I know any more questions!!! 🙄

Damn it snowed more today also, it didn’t amount to much today though, but was cold and windy out… We will probably be able to wear shorts tomorrow though as that is the typical weather for Texas, as it changes every 15 minutes LOL…

Guys I got me a used 100ci steel tank today, so now to have two from which to be able to better mess with these rifles… I have a smaller 88ci aluminum and the 3K fill on just the one tank is not enough, even with a fat fill LOL… I need a compressor but that will have to come around later… This used tank has a fill pressure of 3440, so this will help alot and the larger size will be a blessing as well…

My Condor is in need of a clone also… I am going to build up a long .25 bird once I get the barrel from Walt. I also want to keep one in the SS version as well… I really love the SS size for messing around with… Need to figure out what glass I think I want to try and get also… I need to setup a donation bucket for help$$$

This hobby is worse than drugs LOL…

😯 wow I didnt know west Texas got snow like that ,its snowing here in ohio as well but we dont have anything like that!

a simple way to make the tank feel les cold and more comfortable is wrapping some mc nett camo form around it

Hey Rob,

There you are LOL… Its been a long time since the other sight and you guys helping me get my first AF-Condor, so I am having a hard time getting everyone I remember talking to all straight here…

Have a Merry Christmas

quote Rowdy:

WalkonK,

For some reason dude I thought your name was Rob, I noticed that its Adam now from another poster. Sorry about that, I hope I got you down on the radar now LOL…

No need to be sorry… was a compliment for WOK… 😆

Great looking rig there Rowdy. Jim’s doing a great job with those E-TaC’s for sure.

Yeah, its a mess alright, but heck its also kind of cool being the Christmas holidays and all. My wife is all geddy about it all LOL… We don’t have White Christmas around here very often… So I have been doing what a guy has to do LOL… Plus with it being somewhat cold around here and like a said, my wife being all geddy and all, maybe I might get lucky tonight… That or she might be in trouble since I am feeling pretty frisky right now, actually shoot the Condor out the back door of the hot tub room, has me smiling ear to ear as I knock some of the small limbs off the tree across the way LOL…

I got the shroud from Trek today and I slipped it in the frame of the Condor and I have somewhat sited the Condor in, with the help of a large tree not so near by LOL… The Condor knocks a nice little chunck of the bark off where it hits or it takes the small limbs all the way off…

Least I am getting to shoot the bird some anyway… Just love the shorter SS on this Condor and I am going to probably get Walt to make my .25 barrel around 15-16″… Then I am going to creat me a new style shroud all together for this SS Canon the Condor will become LOL…

WalkonK,

For some reason dude I thought your name was Rob, I noticed that its Adam now from another poster. Sorry about that, I hope I got you down on the radar now LOL…

wow Rowdy thats something else.

Adam, looks like your Wok-Disc would fit perfectly in the indentation on that big tank???

Very nice 😀

Guys,

What I had hoped for a shooting day of the new larger tank fitted with the EtaC from Jim on my Condor SS has somewhat jumped into the snow storm from Christmas LOL…

Thanking God that I didn’t have to work today, I was going to get up at a more normal time and shoot the Condor to plot out how it does with the new larger tank setup… Well its NOT!!!

Have a look at this stuff guys!!!

That is in my backyard and right around the corner of the fence and out the back door of my shop is a 30 yard range I have squeezed in that I love to shoot on… Comforts of the shop with stereo and all the goodies at hand to make any and all adjustments needed…

Well, you can’t really tell how high that little drift is with out something to size it with, now can you??? LOL So, how about a SnowMan to get the relative size to guage this all with!!! Now you can also fact in the fence I put up around this place is a 7″ full privacy red cedar and the snow drifted at this point not quite half as tall…

Not to forget that its still blowing here and its snowing its ass off… Its not all that hard cold out, but well below freezing and the wind chill is nasty LOL…

http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47b9cc05b3127ccef8a5d4be147e00000030O08BcNXLVo3ag9vPhA/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/

If you look at the darn bug light hanging from my shop here, its blowing the damn thing sideways LOL… Freakin nasty out there and I ain’t digging my pellet trap out of the snow and shooting in this stuff right now LOL… Forget about it!!!

http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47b9cc05b3127ccef8a4d3d8f5ff00000030O08BcNXLVo3ag9vPhA/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/

The SnowMan has left the drift LOL…

Ok the reg. is going inside the tank, that should work out good. I wonder how much air capacity you would lose. The reg. would probably make up for it in shot count though.

I got tired of spraying the tank with these coats of rubber LOL. So here it is for now…

http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47b9cc00b3127ccef8beeb614e9000000030O08BcNXLVo3ag9vPhA/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/

This next closer view you can see the hard line of the rubber coating as well as the end cap for the frame rail…

http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47b9cc00b3127ccef8befa6d0e0c00000030O08BcNXLVo3ag9vPhA/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/

The tank OAL with no valve would be 11″ to the knats ass. the OEM Condor tanks I have are 11.75″ if you was to remove the rubber sleeve on them and get on the end of the actual tank…

Thats a good question dude… I don’t know for sure, but if I had to guess, this reg. I have would most likely show the over all tank pressure…
