Condor Top Hat setting tips
After reading some on this forum and using it to set up the top hat of my Condor, I thought I would give some tips and feed back.
1. I started by setting the Top Hat at .070 and it took me only about half a turn out before I could see and increase in pellet velocity.
2. Each quarter turn of the top hat will change it’s setting by .008 so on my Condor, the optimum setting seems to be beween .084 and .088 and it seems consistent with what others have reported.
3. To prevent crushing the inner tube of the valve, make sure you put the round end of a drill bit in it before you tighten the two set screws.
On the Condor, a #3 drill bit seems to be the tightest fit and works great.
Tip: put some oil on it before inserting it so it will be easier to insert and remove.
4. The two set screws need some tread lock if you don’t want them to get loose!
That’s it!
