Q:

Conflicting info from experts

I just recieved my .22 condor. I am interested in having it tuned and putting a .25 barrel on it. I ran across TalonTunes early on in my prebuy research. I have heard only good things about his mods except from my dealer. The gunsmith at my dealer said that the mods are dangerous and will reduce the life of the gun to about 1000 shots. He also said that the pricing for the mods is way out of line. Since I am extremely new to this area can you experienced users help clear this up for me?

Whos the stalker guy??

Oykas, Hammalis, Bond… and a few others. Lives in Cyprus, likes to advertise work he does and claims its made by a third party (A “machinst freind”) and that he’s just passing along a friendly recommendation.

He bought a valve from Leupy/Drum… didn’t like it, went ape shit and got himself banned from TOG and started a one man, several personality crusade against all things Tony.

Phew… two posts in day – I need a break !!

Ah! Ta.

YAY 😆 😆

I don’t believe this is Oykas/Crazy Stalker guy. It would appear that he is posting from Kansas.

Any dealer who is an official retailer 1/ Generally isn’t going to approve of modification’s and 2/ Doesn’t like the idea of himself not making money on after sales service.

If your dealer stands behind his word, and I’m sure he does then he would have no problem being identified. Saying it doesn’t matter who he is while identifying someone else and insinuating that their work in somehow sub par based on an un named source’s word is…. as politely as I can put it – Impolite.

As for your assertion that if you named the person it would be heresay… its hearsay regardless, but yet you repeat it.

You keep asking people if they have any of Talon Tunes work as if its somehow supposed to quiet them down when they come to his defense when his work is unfairly questioned – More important would be if your “dealer” has any of his work.

And for the sake of openness, of which you are lacking – I have shot a Condor from TalonTunes, I have a Barrel from TalonTunes and his work is very good – I’m also a moderator on this site, which is owned by TalonTunes. That doesnt mean I’m in anyones pocket and I have no problem if someone posts that they have an issue with ANYONES work – But your making a heresay comment from an un-named source. I’m ALL for checks and balances to keep people honest and we seem to work out pretty well here – this type of thread just isn’t productive for anyone because its based on an assertion that we cannot confirm.

Pablo – See… I DO post !!

Goes by a bunch of names, sent me a e-mail on my first post, about Tony and his work. I think he stalks Tony.

Whos the stalker guy??

Is this the stalker guy?

good question, the thought had crossed my mind as well

I was told by this guy ( insert name) that I overpaid for this item (insert item) and if I worked on it for any reason (insert reason) it would only last a few times, and the warranty would be void. But I researched it on this site (TALONAIRGUN.COM) before I bought it and I saw that a guy ( TALON TUNES) does that kind of work but is way expensive. I know I am new here but you really should hear me out because what I say is true and names are not the issue unless it is (TALON TUNES). So please do not get on me I am just bringing this out for all to see because I care!

Thank you for your understanding

that right there is the hole point of getting your gun tuned, to make everything work as perfectly as possible together.

Thanks for your responses and the info ASmallVoice and TeflonTron. I am primarily concerned that all parts of the system work together. Some of the mods I have read change one part like the hammer, but don’t discuss the impact this change has on other effected parts. So for example, does a heavier hammer require a heavier spring or is the stock spring enough. Anyway the reasoned respones are appreciated.

Hiya M8,

I have read just about every single post on here, alot of em twice and there are a few even more so. I can say without a doubt that a weapon touched by Mr. Tony will far surpass any stock weapon in longevity ( As long as the user does his/her part) since most of the crucial parts are beefed up far stronger than the stock build.

So I say, do some reading and satisfy your curiosity and let your judgment guide you, as I did. I feel very confident in my purchase of a TalonTuned weapon.

Peace and good luck M8,

ASMALLVOICE

Yes, the mods done by TalonTunes are safe, and they should not reduce the expected life of your rifle any. As mentioned, many people have shot thousands upon thousands of pellets through TalonTunes and other modded rifles with no issues. As for the price, that is down to the individual. Yes, TalonTunes is a little on the expensive side, but the quality is very high and so is the reliability and end product. The support that you will receive is also excellent, both through TalonTunes directly and through here.

Okay I usually figure its best to let these things go. But I would like to say a couple of things in my defense.

1. I had no idea that TalonTunes is/was a member of this forum.
2. I am simply seeking information prior to deciding whether to have my Condor modded. All of this emotional response was not my intent, it is not it my responsiblility, neither is it responsive to the questions I raised.
3. Let me rephrase my questions. Are the mods done by TalonTunes safe? Do the mods reduce the life of the rifle? Are the prices reasonable?

Hey, Im knew to this forum and sport but I know a guy who says one of your members is screwing up your guns and over charging you for it to boot. Oh, I wont tell you who said that you’ll just have to trust me that I heard it.

I hate to see a new guy get creamed but come on.

LOL,

Guess you guys ran his ass outta town….. 😆 😆
