Conflicting info from experts
I just recieved my .22 condor. I am interested in having it tuned and putting a .25 barrel on it. I ran across TalonTunes early on in my prebuy research. I have heard only good things about his mods except from my dealer. The gunsmith at my dealer said that the mods are dangerous and will reduce the life of the gun to about 1000 shots. He also said that the pricing for the mods is way out of line. Since I am extremely new to this area can you experienced users help clear this up for me?

Your “dealer” is a fool who lacks little to no working knowledge of these guns and shouldnt be trusted for any airgun advice if this is a sample of his wealth of information.
Thats if there really is a “dealer” in the first place. Do you also have a “machinist friend”?
You come here quoting trash talk by someone you know but cant say who it is and it is also someone who sells airguns? By default your not to be trusted in my book. You would let other members of this forum purchase something from this “dealer” without the forewarning that this guy hasnt got a clue and will most likely give you bad information. Information that is obviously aimed at keeping you from purchasing something from someone else and put the cash in his pocket.
That is if this “dealer” even exists.
first off, yes it is pertinent to your question, as the dealer you are referring to could be known for taking out of his ass.

third, hear say….. bullshit, if something went to court you would have to say the names of the parties involved.
forth, no one has ever reported a safety or longevity problem with one of Tony’s guns, so pony up and say who said it!

Generally speaking tuning specialists are more knowledgable and experienced than dealers… specialists often evolve out of necessity. The specialist you referred to has an iron clad reputation. Do you think people would spend the money to compromise their airgun and reduce its useful life to 1000 shots? I’d be willing to bet that there are members of the TAG with modified guns that put 1000 shots through their talons and condors in a couple of weekends.
I have specifically left out the dealers name. It is not pertinent to the question at hand. You have only my word that anyone associated with a dealer commented as I’ve stated. In court this is called hear say evidence and is disallowed because it is inflammatory and ultimately impossible to verify. The name of the website selling the mods is very pertinent, because it bears upon the safety and quality of the aftermarket modifications done at that specific site. I am seeking information not a firestorm.

Seeing as how Talontunes is named to be clear on who’s who please tell us the other experts names.
Could be a follow the money kinda thing….. does your ‘dealer’ sell mods or conversions?
I kinda doubt that Talontunes has any troubles with longevity or customer satisfaction. Likley you will get what you pay for and remember that cost is long forgotten if quality is purchased.
