Cosmetic surgery on the Maddog stock

I never liked the space age look on guns, not much can be done with that Maddog stock for looks, but like that gauge your so fond of on my rifle, it is sevicable.
I got the gauge off of the classifieds to replace a plug that replaced the original small gauge, I had no idea is was so large when I bought it.
I have had three ETACs and they all had those tiny guages, which for me one good eye are hard to read and totally inaccurate, this “big Ben” is accurate and is a big help to get fill pressures while I tune the rifle for the Paris breech and hammer.
When I am done with the tune, I will replace it with a plug once again, not only is it ugly, but it is cheaply made also.
I have little use for a gauge on a rifle, having learned to count at a early age, I simply keep track of my shots.
The flare on the stock your so fond of seemed to always be in the way when shooting off the 58 Mercedes I use for a shooting stand in my garage, something I found to be detrimental to accuracy and I find it is uncomfortable to carry with one hand by the grip.
I have the flare that I cut off, if you pmg me your address, I will send them both the discarded flare and the gauge to you when I am thru.

I have the ultima short stock and mine looks a lot better then your does.. (no offense) But that thing is fugly….I like the flair on the on the grip myself? That Knob couldn’t be any worse then that “Big Ben” of a pressure gauge you got there. 😕 That to me is not very easy on the eyes
The problem with removing the point on the forearm, is that there is a hole drilled thru the point to give accrss to the bushing grub screw. You can round it off, but you have to shorten it considerably.
And altho the point is ugly, at least it does not get in the way while shooting like that flair did.
Yes that is a Paris breech, it also has a Paris hammer.
I recently remodeled the rifle with a new frame from AF and a new gauge that is a little bigger and more accurate than the last one that was on it.

Roach I know you are a No BS type, and I would never attack you as others have. I just called it as I saw it. In my personal opinion(which are like assholes) the Maddog Stock you have is not the most appealing.. I would have just kept the Wok on there if that was the look you were going for. The reason I purchased a Maddog stock was to have an integrated stock with a grip and forearm. I like my AF rifles from a bench, but they just don’t feel right when shooting offhand. The Maddog helped with that.
