Last turkey season my brother was callin in a Tom and rite as soon as we was about to draw his bow the Tom got spooked he stood up and infront of the bush he was hiding behind was a coyote this season that just passedi was with him and I had my condor with me we were calling the turkeys in and heard something on the hill side there were two of them they were hunting to for lunch I assume I never took a shot that Lon before it was over 100 yard easy I was so angry I took a shot any how and just guessed the pellet drop I could seethe pellet grazed the top of his head maybe he’ll tell the other coyotes to stay out of our area hopefully 😈 I need to get a scope cam

We sure will try !

I hate coyotes kill them all :4:

I guess there were no Coyotes.

The main issue at the moment is having too much property to cover.
I scouted a place in Norfolk crowded with turkeys ,deers ,rabbits and swans. I didn’t get a visual confirmation of coyotes but the property owner said they can be heard and seen at night. I will post pix of the beautiful land and shooting sometimes this week. :8:
A day in the woods will always be priceless in my agenda:D

hi, well how did you do? I cant wait to shoot my first coyote with my condor ss.

I guess there were no Coyotes.

Nice picts Steve,thanks for sharing … :4:
I hope we will be lucky enough to pinch with the condors. 😀

wait i think she shot the coyote and your taking the credit . no for real congrats on the taking of the coyote . that awesome that you have your daughter hunting with you ! i take my son hunting also and loves it . now he wants to get into the bow hunting scene with me . very nice coyote ! what state did you take that in ? nothing like having a nice electronic game caller for hunting ! in ct or new england our coyotes are bigger than the coyotes down south and mid west and west coast i was told . i saw a show on discovery channel on coyotes and they stated that in new england the early settlers almost wiped out the wolf population so the remaining wolfs mated with coyotes in new england which gives coyotes the bigger size and also bigger packs of coyotes .

Very Nice!

Heres a pic of the first one I got with the condor, with my little hunting buddy.
and the other.

My electronic caller has hundreds of different calls and many more available online ! Around here people seem to hunt coyote while on tree stand deer hunting or turkey hunting . I was calling in some Turkeys when out of no where a coyote came running towards us and our decoy and by the time the coyote realized he made a mistake I shot him actually it was a big female . It was great ! I will try different call methods mentioned but I am pretty sure no one has used or hunted coyotes in this area so they may be able to be fooled . I will definitely play the wind just like when I deer hunt . If you have pictures of your coyote hunt post them ! Thanks . Have fun hunting game !

Thanks Steve great information.

I hunt coyotes on a regular basis, both air guns and powder burners. Airguns are more of a challenge, making a hit is easy making a good hit becomes even harder. I use a fox pro call set it out away from you slightly upwind of you, this makes for two things first thing coyotes 99% of the time go down wind of the sound putting him in front of you, two he isnt focused on you so you have a bit more time to line up the shot. The best tip I can give you play the wind keep it in your face or in one ear, if you expect a coyote is in a thick patch of cover make sure your wind isnt blowing at that area, always watch the downwind side of the call. Another thing is use shooting sticks and get on the coyote as soon as you see it follow it with your scope or at least look over the top while tracking it into the call, anticipate where the open shots are and when your ready to stop them you can mute the call or bark usually this will stop them for a second. I killed 65 coyotes last season and have killed three this year already two of them with my condor, using regular 31 grain h&n and 25 grain jsb exacts, if they are looking at the call shot them between the eye and ear drops them right now. I have killed one at 60 yards and the other one at 44 yards. Pup in distress this time of the year will bring them in fast and mad, jackrabbit has little of no effect here becasue they have heard that before not saying it wont work but pup distress will get them in faster, they are denning now and parents are extremely protective of thier young.

lol, CarsonRatsniper, you are a funny guy.
I am sure it will be a challenge to get a head shoot with an AG as they never stand still .Using a rabbit distress call sound like a good idea as the property owner mentioned the rabbit population decreasing due to coyotes activities. I will feel more comfy with a bow or a powder burner to be honest.

The best way to get in a weary Alpha is challenge barks & howls. Some yotes are used to rabbit or woodpecker distress calls, especially if they’ve been shot at before.
I quit using distress calls a few years ago when I opted to go for the older more mature Alphas and adults.
I always challenge them to a fight – its really cool when they come in hot, bristled up looking to kick ass.
Its a little unnerving too, but the adrenaline dump is worth it!

Good luck. 🙂
