Q:

Cricket 25 Cal Shot String

25 cal Cricket using JSB exact kings 25.4 pellets. Starting at 290 and ending at 120. Using nitrogen and temperature was around a brutally cold 50 degrees today (that’s cold here in Florida!). 😯

Add 5 more shots in the first two strings due to errors. I guess you can say the Cricket puts out. And at 55 yards can’t miss 1/2″ to 1″ targets all day long. Going to try 75 yards next weekend.

The first & second strings have 32 shots each.

Don’t the bands that clamp the barrel also clamp the air tube?

Having a band that clamps at the barrel and the air tube is usually a no no.

I don’t know of any air gun where the barrel touches the air tube (I should add, on purpose). 😯

Funny you should mention this. I am beginning to believe these Cricket’s can easily hold their own against the big boys and that means even more than just the two you mention!

Great strings. And i’d imagine they will only get better as the reg gets worked in.

I initially planned on getting a Daystate, but decided the design of the Cricket is best. Here’s why. In addition to the compactness of the Cricket, the way the barrel is clamped –TWICE right in its midsection– very securely to to the scope via the rail is what I believe is the reason to its superior accuracy. If the barrel is bumped, the scope follows along. Another reason is the barrel does not contact the air tube, nor does the airtube contact the silencer. So, the problem of POI shift due to pressure changes causing expansion and contraction (if it even occurs) and barrel knocks are cancelled. This type of design virtually eliminates this kind of problem.

My Cricket Standard .22’s shot string with JSB 18 grain pellets is below. These are out of the box velocities. The gun is so quiet too.

My Cricket .22 Standard shoots 18-grainers at an in the 905-890 FPS range for almost 60 shots from a starting fill of 285 BAR. Just like the OP’s shot string, my Cricket shoots as consistent out of the box. It is very hard to miss with it. I’ve only shot mine at 20 yards for now, but wherever the croshairs are pointed the pellets will go to it each time. At 20 yards, all 75 pellets go into the hole which the first one made. 😯 The Cricket is that awesome.

290 what is 290.is this fill pressure?is it bar or what.sorry for the stupid ???
I want to understand, are you saying the gun fills to 4300psi???

4200psi fill?

Does this mean that a Shoebox with a 4500psi CF tank is pre-requisite to owning a Cricket 25?

My standard 80cuft scuba tank fills to 3200psi only.

damn that reg is pretty darn efficient, did it come from the factory shooting that fast or did you have to do some tuning? All the ones I’ve seen were shooting less that 880 and that kind of scared me away but if these crickets are capable of low 900’s that I might be interested again.

I got this from TGAG and it was shooting like that right out of the box. I was impressed with everything about the gun. Granted it’s not a Daystate or Edgun but for what it is, it is one heck of a gun and worth every penny. The multi shot and having 5 mags available is very nice. It’s a fun gun.

I tried 31gr H&N’s and it was shooting around 890’s.

Yeah, I’m frigg’n freeezing just thinking about it. Being from Texas an all! 😆

I can’t believe you made me count those shoots. Com’on man, use numbers! 👿 🙄 PITA!!! 😆
