Q:

Cricket Bugs

My sweet little Cricket rifle has a LARGE bug in the mix… πŸ™ πŸ™ πŸ™

THE FILL PROBE SUCKS……. πŸ‘Ώ

Zocoloco covered this very well in his write up compairing the Edgun to the Cricket. The problem lies in the size of the base of the fill probe. Yes size does matter… πŸ˜€ Where the fill probe mates up to a foster adapter there is not enough surface area to make a good air tight seal. This surface is smaller than a standard foster gasket seal.

Can it be made to work ❓ yes but when you spend big bucks for an air rifle of this quality you should not have to jump through hoop just to be able to fill it with air.. 😳

Pyamydair sell a foster adapter with a seal in the bottom of the apapter which should fix the problem. But this issue should of been fixed by Kalibr long ago. A simple note explaning what is need to make their fill probe work would also been nice.

Yes I’m upset about this hold up in being able to shoot my new rifle. I still think it’s a cool little rifle that shoots really well with what little air came in it. :banghead:

Hey Dima thanks for the good news and the follow up…. πŸ˜€ Communcation and customer service 😎 way to go……

Merry Christmas,

The OLD GUY

There is “an official” Cricket filling probe for quick disconnect. We’ll have them on sale coming year.

Fill adapter from pyramid def works i put teflon on the fill probe and screwed it in its a little snug in the begining , i used two wrenches and it tightened and sealed right up. filled up the cricket no leaks πŸ˜€

The fill adapter from PA will work.

I know because the Mayans told me it would. 😯

I used the same adapter on the fill probe for a Hammerli Pneuma. :thumb:

I also used one on the Air Arms fill adapter. :thumb:

You cannot tighten by hand.

You must use a wrench to hold the Cricket fill adapter and one to tighten the http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Air_Venturi_Male_Quick_Disconnect_1_8_BSPP_Female_Threads_Steel_Rated_to_5000_PSI_Incl_Delrin_Seal/3550

You won’t break anything or cross-thread or strip anything if you use:

1) 6″ open/closed-end wrenches

2) common sense πŸ’‘

Insure the delrin seal is in there or it won’t work.

I buy all mine from here…..:

Home

They have specialized in fittings for Airguns and they’re quick, efficient and know what they’re doing….

Trust me..!!! πŸ˜€

That said, the Cricket fill probe is so small I would have been afraid of using too much force myself. What a stupid way to save money, – if that’s what it is… πŸ˜₯

πŸ˜€

PS: And yes. be careful not to damage the O-rings on the probe. It is SO easy to do if you’re not careful……. πŸ™

When it got tight after I got the threads started I unscrewed it and tried it again. Then I decided it wasn’t worth the risk of damaging the threads on the fill probe.

It will work.

It does fit tight.

I put one on 1oldguy2’s fill rig and gassed up the gun when came by my shop. Be sure to use teflon tape.

BE SURE to hold the fill cover up when removing the fill probe or you WILL tear the o rings on the probe. A twist-lock device here would be nice.

(He actually let me hold and shoot the gun. Does that mean I can post ramblings about them even if I don’t own one? :D)

works for mine

Wrong thread ????!!!! 😯

What do you mean ??? It’s having std 1/8″ BSPP (British Std Pipe Paralell) threads which are the same as most any airgun fill probe I’ve ever seen…

I have never had a problem with this std on my probes/quick copuplers. However the AirVenturi female couplers have been reported to have some very course threads (bad machining) in some cases…..

My Cricket fillprobe has std 1/8″ BSPP threads, – have they changed that now ????

Please elaborate a little…… πŸ˜‰

πŸ˜€

It fits the adapter that my air arms uses but the one that I ordered feels real tight and I don’t want to risk damaging the threads on the brass.
