Q:

Cricket Bullpup – Shot count

Hi guys,

Decided to pre order a Cricket Bullpup as someone is now about to start selling them in the UK.
Does anyone know if theres much difference between the .22 standard and the .22 compact with regards to shot count/accuracy etc

Please note, these will be sub 12ft lb because I live in a shit country 🙄

How did you knew?? Uncanny!

Sent from a Tab my wife lured me to buy … If your Aunt has a pair of hairy balls does that make “her” your Uncle ?

quote Sir Ville:

I owned a “Compact” Edgun a few years ago and eventually sold it.

Why? The short shroud makes it louder. Limited shot count compared to the Standard and Long. Accuracy is identical in my opinion.

The compact is a good “truck gun”, to grab and shoot when needed. Few people have that urge or need.

The perfect Edgun is the Standard. Quiet, nice shot count, compact.

The Long really does two things very well…shoots large calibers efficiently, large shot count, can be used as a crutch if you shot yourself in the foot! Ville had occasion to use it in this manner, but swore he would never use it that way again. By the time he got to the clinic, he had shot himself in the armpit as well….nice boy, not real bright!

I actually managed to shoot myself in both feet and both armpits before i understood. And this with a single shot …

I wasnt one of Sniperqty from Kuwaits back to front made in china Edgun copies was it? 😯

I think standard is a good choice! If you buy the screw for quick adjustment of power you can easily and quickly change the power in a second. You can “try” more power if you will need… and then back to 12 fpe 😉 Easily and comfortable. That screw is selling one member here.

Hmmmm, sounds interesting indeed. Do tell… 😀

Thanks for all of the advice folks

That´s good. The thing with these knock-off´s is that one might be lucky and get a real good one. Or not so lucky ,like my friend. I quess you need to ask yourself “do i feel lucky?” before hitting the “complete the payment”-button at the Ali Baba check out … :mrgreen:

Hi Donny 😉 Is it only girl what I found over the internet 😆 but she is holding edgun. But doesn’t matter both bullpup are great.

SirVille I´m successful with this china copy of leo. I have also Hawke 8,5-25×42 but most of time I used only 10x magnification for all distances. My shooting place backyard is long “only” 140meters and I´m shooting up to 120meters max. From 80m to 120m I have small tins from JSB pellets (250pcs) like targets. 10x is ok for this distances.
My loe hold zero and click is crisp and right. I would say is better than on my hawke sidewinder 😐 and hawke cost 6x more… Good advantage is “it is lightweight” 500grams is great opposite to hawke with 850grams…

quote octavius:

Yes, too long is not good too because there is increased time during pellet travel in the barrel. And it’s a space for the shooters, where he can make a mistake-to pull off the trigger… Long of barrel have to be in balance with power of the gun.

Just as i thought. BTW – How does that Leo Mark IV -knock-off perform ?? Isn´t 10x all too little magnification? A friend had one of those scopes at the range. When i say “at the range” i mean he got pissed because the scope didn´t hold zero and we ended up shooting the crap out of it. We placed it on the 50m mark and gave it a quick make-over. It turns out it wasn´t air-gun rated since it didn´t survive the impact from a few .22 cal pellets .. :mrgreen:

Octavius, can you elaborate on your new profile picture? Looks like some role playing at home you sly dog :2:

The longer barrel gives longer “boost” to the pellet before it exits the muzzle = the air pressure has more time to do its thing. The same goes for all firearms – longer barrel (to a degree) gives higher velocity. The ultimate AG barrel length in regard of velocity should be one with enough length so the “puff” of air is strongest just a millisecond before the pellet leaves the barrel. Too long isn´t good either. Or that´s my less than educated quess anyways…

Kurth – go with the standard length. The little size difference is by far overshadowed by the higher shotcount and , if needed , power.

Very easy for example Weihrauch HW 100 cal.177 standard 41cm barrel and 61cm barrel. If you want to get power from HW100 you have to change barrel for 61cm instead 41cm because there is same transferport for both version (sub 12fpe and FAC) If you set regulator in 12fpe version into the same pressure etc… You do not get the same performance as hw100 with 61cm barrel. I tried this on my hw100 after changed barrel I got full power as FAC from factory. But I put it back to sub 12FPE.
Shortly: where is not technician possible do this with reg. pressure or transferport etc there is used longer barrel.
For example nr.2: Ask to SECoda if he has same power on his edgun standard cal.25 than classic long version of edgun .25 ? 😀

Dear Brother Kurth;

The most main reason that i decided to get the long Edgun Version is the shot count, if you interest on the bigger shot count so go for the longest one, if not, and the shorter length of the air rifle is the matter for you then go with the shorter one.

quote Hoot:

Dear Kurth….
Only fps/fpe can be increased with a longer barrel, so don’t waste money on length in a 12 fpe country.

Dear Uncle H 😯 😯 T;

could you please give us some info about, how the longest barrel will affect the fps/fpe?

thanks….
