Ernest;

you are a great man & this is very kind of you that you are helping others, thanks a ton.

When o-ring is changed what kind of type o-ring you get? NBR70, 80 or 90 ?

I want to collect all o-ring for cricket and I do not know exactly which type I have to buy ❓

I’ve been looking at the Cricket and the Ed for some time, I like a rifle I can maintain myself.
I appreciate you and others here that share info and tips.
Great video Ernest, thanks for posting it !

The only thing that scares me with these damn greases is the risk of explosion….if you read the warning all the way on the bottom of the link to the Greese…it says not to use on high pressure air tanks…which the cricket or matador is.

DOW55 swells the o-rings very slightly for better sealing according to specs. Straight silicon doesn’t. The Gun Sav ad is trying to tell you that a bit of swelling is bad and to replace Dow55 with it. I have been using straight silicon grease as well but a bit of swelling is exactly what I think helps it seal. Earnest mentioned the same in the reassembly video. Who knows for sure. πŸ™‚

I think I have every lubricant and cleaner related to PBs and airguns in my inventory someplace. What can I say – I am a collector. πŸ˜€

I use my paintball gun silicone lube…it’s great for oring life and is slick/slippery..
Not thick or sticky…

Again great video. Got the MolyKote 55 o-ring grease on order from Amazon for $20. It certainly appears to be better than the silicon grease in terms of sealing o-rings.

Thanks

I have posted the Assembly Video:

The Matador is built more like a s… brick house but when you can disassemble the Cricket in 15 minutes including the regulator and parts are easy to get as is support who cares quite so much. I even have an extra valve on hand just-in-case. Short of disassembling and polishing sears and stuff the Cricket gets the edge on the trigger IMO. Even after lots of adjusting and T&E on both. Frankly, its strong enough. Don’t get me wrong I have no intentions of selling my .25 Matador but it fits a different niche. Speaking of I missed my first chipmunk of the season with the Matador a while ago – shot way too fast – shooter error. I would say my normal hit rate on pests under 50 yards is about 97% from the bench. πŸ™‚

i never knew the cricket had a bleed valve on the air tube…that really impressed me…shame the matador doesnt have that

Oh I love the cricket…the trigger has a way better feel than my matador and in all honesty…when I ordered my matador it was when the matador looked like the cricket but had that painted stock…when I got my matador I was a little upset cause I wanted what I ordered…not the new r3….so when I saw the criket it reminded me if the way the older matadors looked so I had to have it…I took the cricket apart today and realized how much simpler it is compared to the matador.

To pull the regulator out of the air tube ——> that’s about it.

Do you think the threaded rod of a cleaning kit would work?

Earnest,
Another great video. I don’t own a Cricket, yet, but do enjoy learning and viewing all I can. I have an Edgun with one on its way but have to admit, being an Edgun fan, that these Crickets, after viewing this video, do have some advantages over an Edgun, at least as I’m seeing it.

In your video the tool used to remove the air gauge, is that supplied with the gun or did you make or buy the particular tool?

I am humbled, as we should all be, that such tuners are willing to post videos and help others at the drop of a hat.
This is intended, not only towards Earnest, but towards the many others here, as well as other forums, such as our in house oldgoat and many others of like minded people, not to start mentioning names here for fear of leaving someone out, that contribute so much to help others. I guess this is my way of saying thanks guys, much appreciated!

Look forward to your next video.

Kind regards, mike
