Q:

Cricket o-rings – shit or good?

Hey guys, Back in the day people said the o-rings of the cricket was shit quality and should be switched out asap, is that still the same for new crickets or have they changed it?

I don’t want my regulator to start leaking early due to bad o-rings

Same no problem at all, drop right in.

Nice, but I am happy with my tape ๐Ÿ˜†

Is it harder to load the pellets with that o-ring or is it shit the same?

Cricket, this is what I use to keep my mags from falling out of mag holder…

looks like this……

now the mag stays in place….

I change them all to brand o-rings. The OEM rings are so-so at best.

oh, well that doesn’t matter, I have electrical tape on the inside of my mag-holders and it works GREAT

You need to ask Zonk, but IIRC for the large O-ring to clear the mag well in the receiver he had to grind out the area so that will not rub on the bottom.

Is there a difference when having just one big oring in the magazine instead of the two original? Is the mag easier to load or something?

My Cricket is the first generation version (purchased in summer 2013) and the only O-ring I ever replaced was the one for the pressure gauge. The hardest part was getting a special tool made for me to unscrew the air gauge as the clearance is so narrow that a normal socket won’t fit. Apart from that, all the other O-rings intact are the original ones and still going strong. However, I also have the full O-ring kit from Ernest just in case I need to replace any in the future.

Ernest told me last time him and I were out drinking that he wasn’t going to put together a Vulcan o-ring kit. Too much trouble. :18:

quote GKU:

I’ve got the same O-ring Kit Zonk, heads up though on the breech O-ring it should be 1.5 x 5.5mm for a 22 cal, not 5mm.

Yep, me too and have the .22 as well as the .25..

Y’all know if Earnest has a similar kit for a Vulcan? I just know I’ll pull the trigger on one of them before too long… ๐Ÿ™‚

I know when I sent my Cricket to Ernest for a tune he changed out all of the O-rings with quality ones. Here’s what I bought from Ernest for future problems….

someday I may need them…..

Well said Jan !
