Well gang, I haven’t put any type of clear coat or anything on it yet, but the stock weight reduction project is pretty much done. As I posted earlier, in the thicker areas of the stock where I removed a lot of material, there were air bubbles in the base plastic. I thought about several ideas to deal with these pores that would make ’em go away, but would still look nice. I saw that Stippling thread on the Yeller and decided to do some research… watched several videos on you tube and thought I’d give it a try… I like the way it turned out…

Oh and the final weight of the stock, 2.0 pounds, which is 1.1 pounds lighter than it was before I started whittling, grinding and sanding… :8:

Have a safe trip chad, and welcome back to the good ole USA

Hey Chad, Congratulations sir! I pray you will have a good and safe trip home! Gonna be a good time of year to be home too. Looking forward to seeing that bug all put together and ready for some shootin’!

thank you very much for the prayers! That means more to me then you know.

I’ve been looking at some Stippling threads over on the Yeller, and I’m thinking about trying that out on my stock mods before painting. Seems it is pretty common to use truck bed liner spray for stock work too. Anyone on here ever done it? If so, post up some pics. ❓

When you guys are talking about the Camo dip, Is it a kit you buy, Or do you send it somewhere to get dipped?
I tried the camo tape a long time ago on a shot gun, Did not turn out well,
I am sure it has gotten better,
Oh, nice looking gun Ren,
Mike

Thanks Iride! Yes this is a kit you can buy online and do it yourself
I did this one and came out ok, I even did the scope! 😀

If you feel like you can not do it you can always send it to a professional to do it for you.

This is the link for the do it yourself kit.

I want to have mine dipped but can’t decide on which pattern…

I really like the Krytek Highlander pattern, it’s a 4 season pattern, at least here in cali, if you hunt where the environment has lots of green/foliage the Mandrake is the pattern.
