Q:

Cricket Single Shot Tray

New guy here for posting.

I was thinking the other day about a single shot tray for my Cricket 22 cal. Then reading on the Talon forums Ernest Rowe mentioned using a Cricket 14 shot magazine for the single shot tray by milling out one of the holders.

My first thought was that you would sacrafice a $30, 14 shot magazine, for a single. After giving this some thought, the oring is removed, then one pellet hole is milled out for a single. The oring can be slipped back on and the magazine can then again be shot as a 14 shot repeater.

Anyway, just some thoughts as I’m about ready to mill one out for a try…I’ll keep you posted.

Nicely done,
how bout some dimensions? :fishinghole:

Update on milling out Cricket Magazine…Long story short, couldn’t bring myself to mill out a $30 Cricket 14 shot magazine. Sooo, just decided to build a single shot swing out tray made out of delrin. Got the idea from one of Ernest’s Utube videos. The single shot tray works great for bench shooting.

I also had tried using a wood cheek rest and did not like. Someone, don’t remember who, suggested using velcro for a cheek rest. Works great and very comfortable…and it looks like carpet…LOL

Larry: You could just but the selector lever in manual index and leave the O-ring on and that should work as well. Make sure to post a picture and let us know how that works out for you. I haven’t tried it yet, but I heard Polymags already fit in the Magazine holder it just won’t auto index.

Your photo is there but only link is visible. http://postimg.org/image/hlanxkw23

I see nothing either.. :confusedn:

Zonk

What happened to my photo…did I goof up? LOL

Yup, okay, thanks for that.

Some long pellets like Polymags don’t work in the magazines.

Why does one need a single shot tray ? Is that mandatory for match shooting ?

So you can slip a pellet in with the oring on or can it only be one or the other at a time? The indexing switch option makes it viable.

Pretty cool.
