Yep. That´s the plan.

O.K. I was thinking of that BR reflex silencer for my Quad though – for the .17HMR barrel. Let me know how that reflex worked on your airgun.

I’ll post results to sihry forum. I actually got four bigbore silencers to test but the reflex one needs internals built so I’ll have to make them before I can do a proper comparison test for them all. Later this week I suppose.

With reflex silencer on the quad you should only hear the supersonic crack as it will way overpower the action noise.

I have tried the Ase-Utra and it´s a good silencer for RF. Jaki/A-U are about equal as far as rimfires and i don´t know how well neither works on an AG.
Both are heavy and make the Cricket feel weird and front heavy so thus i opted for a CF silencer for mine. Will go the same route for the .177 Compact and a JAKI would feel even heavier on the nose on that little bugger. I need to order a dedicated .17 cal muffler to accompany the .17 HMR so i´ll definitely test one on the .177. It´s just that weight thing …
There´s this Finnish silencer maker in Joensuu (http://guns.connect.fi/rs/) who makes reflex (telescopic) silencers to order. I need to ship the barrel to him for that though so it´ll be a project for Summer. I´ll get over there to visit my Parents and the rest of the Family so i´ll take the Barrel with me and get it done at the same time.

Reflex silencers work great on airguns, but you need to make them airgun specific. The usual large empty chamber and baffles after that is not that good for compressed air. First baffle 20mm after the muzzle with good back venting and then the usual chamber arrangement is the best. I made a reflex silencer for my D-pup and at 22 fpe it is quieter than stock HW in my 12 fpe Scorpion SE as measured with Audacity.

I should actually receive some bigbore silencers for testing later today including one reflex model. It will be interesting to see how quiet an airgun can be at 150+ fpe power level.

Or have a machinist make a new threaded end cap to match the barrel threads–more smooth line but more costly!. Have tested a lot of LDC—>the HW is the quietest!

The cricket rifle has the same designed–they are vary quiet.

Hate to say it but a lot quieter then NC shroud.

Very nice on Cricket. I’m curious if Weihrauch moderator can be on Edgun R3M.

Those RF mufflers work on an AG but dedicated AG mufflers of a better quality will work better. The best AG silencers have felt or something similar stuffed in them – not found on PB silencers. That said i now have a CF silencer for my Quad and it’s made by a guy who makes silencers for AG’s. It works well but i don’t think it’ll last very long. The best silencer i have for the Quad is a JAKI (Finnish Brand) and now i need to test it on a .22 cal AG to see how it compares to a Weihrauch AG silencer. It’s – by far – the best muffler i’ve tested on my Sako and i’ve tested aplenty. I own 5-6 different silencers for it and the JAKI beats them all.
I don’t think it’ll be as good on an AG though…

Have you tried Ase Utra’s rimfire silencer? It’s the best I’ve found so far and works in airguns as well. I have no experience in JAKI although I’ve tried JAAK which was just plain crap in airguns. Even the good old SAK works rather well in both applications.

Sir De Ville

Several of my NFA rimfire suppressors come apart for cleaning, So I was thinking of removing the K-baffle internals and replacing them with women’s’ hair curlers wrapped in heavy felt a la UK style separated by a couple of washers. Im not quite sure and will have to check US regs on this before I attempt, but since I will be keeping the caliber the same, I think it should be both easy and legal.Thank you again for sharing your experience with me on this matter.

Sir Ville,

Much appreciated. Now off to find a good machinist.

Have a good day

The twenty five has the same thread .

All,

First post here.

Recently picked up a .22 Crickett compact over on the Yellow and .25 Crickett from Steve over at WWAG that is being converted (by a Ernest Rowe I believe) to standard length.
I live in Texas and have several rimfire silencers / Moderators that I obtained through the NFA approval process. I would like like to be able to use some of my rimfire silencers on the two crickets and was wondering if anyone knew the thread size on both models. If I can get this information I think I could have the Marmot guy or someone else build me adaptors to use with the rimfire stuff which is threaded 1/2 x 28 TPI.

So far I have found on the internet a post stating the following

.22 threading = M14 x 1.25
.25 threading – ?

Any help would be appreciated

So some Bugs have a clipping issue too?? Not good. At all. Luckily mine doesn’t.

Ok, I will do. I have measured whole in original there is 6,5mm and HW has 7,5mm. I think 6,5mm is pretty close 🙄 Pellet has 5,5 and whole 6,5mm 😡

Are you sure original shroud is not clipping. Mine is clipping bad. Stick a wood dowl into barrel and rotate shroud and see if its centered
