crono numbers
Can these numbers be true?
With Extra heavy Kodiacs (22 grain I think) I am getting 745 ft per sec (aprox)
With the predator (16 grain I think) 1040 ft per sec (aprox)
Stock condor 24 inch .22
6 grains makes that much difference ??????

Is there any advantage to turning it down so I use less air? I shoot varmint control and when I shoot in the basement I have my scuba tank handy. I am not sure I want to mess with it. I am nervous to move it again after dialing it in. (chicken)
Now you can start fine tuning to see how much fps you can get with the minimum amount of air. Try turning your top hat to .060 and work from there.
I checked the valve its open like the condor. I messed with the top hat and noticed decreasing the gap from .103 increased velocity. I set it at .083 and got over 1000 ft per sec with extra heavy kodiacs. I filled to 2600 psi for these results. its getting better
I took the barrel out and checked that. I have not removed anything else nor lubed anything at all. I got some advise from GTBJ on disassebmly and lube of the gun and will try that this week end.
Slayer5 (Cool name btw)looking at the pics, which valve do you have? If you have the Hi-flo valve, you shouldn’t need .102 to get those numbers. Is your gun clean?
Since the day I bought my condor many many have helped modify it
See, that’s what makes this place so great. Thanks Scott.
Not always the case. If the hole in the stem is rather large, where you can see two paper thin sheets of metal=Condor valve. If the hole is small and the metal around it thicker=Talon valve. I’ll try to find the comparo pic.

My condor has a condor valve I would assume. I bought it new as a condor.
Do you have a condor or talon valve?
I adjusted the th to.102 a,d I am getting between 957 and 934 with 20 shots I am happy with that.
Not enough air is coming out of that tank, each shot. With my talon ss I ‘m shooting 735 fps with 21 gr pellets. With 14 gr pellets I’m around 811 which is what is advertised. My tank which is stock is at .089
Their a section in references which explains how to set the top hat. This is a great way for you to get to know your gun.
Let up know how you are doing with it.
Your lucky, this should happen to everybody but you have to have a chrono to see the results.
Just a reminder , always open the breach when you screw on a tank, because if the top hat starts to loosen it could move either more open or more closed. I like to take a mental picture of where the grub screw sits when the tank is screwed on, what position they are clocked at.
Will do and post results this week end. I have 4 days off to play!

LOL I don’t blame you. I actually messed mine up a little by moving it too often and tightening it too much. What you want to achieve is the most FPS with the least air usage. You may be there now. But I think you might be able to do better. Try this….2500 fill, measure your top hat, shoot 20 shots over the chrony, see how much air you used. Adjust top hat to .070 fill to 2500, shoot another 20 shots over the chrony and recheck your ending pressure. Post your results.
