I don’t know if Home Depot has any high pressure foster fittings or not. But I do know that Airhog has wverything you need and some stuff you might just want really bad! http://www.airhog.com/
Give them a call, I’ve always recieved great service there.
Especially when dealing with ammo, there are no stupid questions. The stupidity come when people do not ask questions, or begin to experiment. It is always best to ask as many sources as possible before venturing into new territory. I have much more experience with powder-burner ammunition and it cannot be overstated to stay within published data. Many have found out the hard way what happens when you think that you know more than the experts.
The level of expertise on this forum and the willingness to share is a beautiful thing. I’m always learning something new. For example, I thought that you guys were talking about Barnes Bullets. I was wondering how a solid copper projectile was working so well in an air rifle? Now it makes alot more sense.
Thanks guys 😀
I rather die than shooting cooper with it. By the way, where can I look for the female connection adapter to fill my DAQ 308? I heard Home Depot do sell the high pressure connections but what do I ask for?
Ask away… had you actually fired a copper plated firearm bullet out of your new DAQ, I feel certain you would have immediately known something was wrong because you would have heard a collective “NOOOOOOOooooooo!” coming from all the DAQ owners worldwide who would have had a sharp pain in their side..haha
No questions are stupid, my friend.

Let me clear something else up… Surefire makes the Barnes designed .45 Raptor and the Barnes designed .25 “ring” slugs. We also offer Barnes owners custom slugs using their molds or molds designed for their particular rifle. The .308 slugs we make are Lee designs and we offer an assortment from 100 to 165gr. So far the 113gr and 120gr have been the most popular but I expect the others would serve well also.
you guys are pros and knowledgeable in this field. I am in the right place to ask some stupid questions before I ruined my toy. cheers 🙂
DAQ recommended 115 or 130, is 140 too heavy? What about the velocity, will it start dropping at 100 yard?
The barnes slugs referred to by Rob are “barnes pneumatic” not “barnes bullets” as used in powderburning rifles. As ATP said, jacked/copper solids not suitable for AG use. Easy to mistake the two names though.
Very good point, Don…. I just never caught that and wondered why he was bent on using firearm bullets.
They are both equal in accuracy far as I found. The real difference is you are supporting a fellow shooter buying the Barnes bullets from Jerry.
You can use the 165gr bullets, but I think you are going to find that for a stock 308, you will see best results with bullets in the 120gr range.

What is Barnes “unsized” bullet compare to HS air bullet? Can I use the 165 grain HS RN bullet on the DAQ 308?
I havent tried any of Roberts bullets… to be honest, I find that that the HS and Jerry’s are all I need. Nothing against Robert at all… I’m sure he makes some fine ammo.
I just like to get one type that works well and keep it at that.

HS, Hunters Supply.
airtight_python, sorry to ask but what is BHN and HS. I am kinda new at these ammo specs. So no copper, lead only. got it. thanks.

BHN 15 is extremely hard for an airgun slug. I know it’s no DAQ, but BHN-11 or so can and has gotten stuck in the barrel of my 250-260fpe 909 and those slugs were properly sized. Velocity goes way down if it even clears the barrel. I have shot soft lead as big as .46caliber out of my barrel without having it get stuck.
The slugs Surefire (Jerry) has worked great in my friend Jim’s .308 DAQ when we were hunting a few months ago. The un-sized ones were giving him the best results.
