Q:

DON’T BUY AN HFIRE TANK!!!!!

w/their rifle?? I’ve ordered one but would like to hear from anyone already using one. For those that don’t know, it’s a tank that allows fills up to 4300 psi. Just wondering what you guys are shooting caliber-wise, velocity, number of shots, what you fill/re-fill to. That kind of stuff. Thanks to all!

come to think of it- did anyone do any testing to dman’s tanks?? Sorry- I’m just hoping….

I hate to tell you but those tanks that Dman got fall in the same category. I have one and there is no DOT on it.

I know… 🙁

It’s a shame that Dman can no longer get the 4500psi tanks he originally got for a few of us. Beautifully made item!

What the??? Dang, and I had high hopes… well I’m for sure not going to risk it. I will follow up with AMAZON to see if it can be returned. I want to continue my efforts to find a reasonably sized bottle that will meet the PSI I’m looking for. Tony, thank for the info my friend.

I wasn’t berating you Tony, far from it! I’m thanking you!! Im just glad none of us found out the hard way!!!

Sorry,
I had high hopes too…
I dont know if it can handle 4350psi or not.
Its just that it does not have a DOT stamp on it making it illegal.
Thanks, Tony

Well! Im glad I bought a $100 paperweight!!! 👿 Thanks for the input Tony! I would have hated to find out the hard way!!

Good to know about the (actual) 3000psi rating when hfire is claiming 4350! There is a “head removing hand grenade” just waiting to go off!

Hey Goys,
I bought one of these tanks hoping that it would be great for the .30 and higher builds.
Being from over seas it got me a little concerned, so I sent it off to an extremely reliable and knowledgeable source.

Here is my reply…..

We hydroed the bottle, it Passed.
Here is what I have found out:
We can not mark the bottle as it is not authorized for use in the US, and its rating is only 3000PSI.
We are attempting to see if this company from Shanghai has submitted for a US DOT Permit
I have asked Worthington MFG to see if they can match the specs and have a 3300 PSI Bottle with the same size, would that suffice?

This bottle is not legal in the U.S. unless it is cleared by the DOT.

Hope this helps, Tony

No numbers as of yet…. He still has a few pieces to finish up.

Cool beans. Has Doug said anything about numbers yet? Shot count and such?

Yes, a 257… Dyotat is pushing for before the end of the year but, I am staying flexible about it as I know he has been busy with his full time job plus other builds he is working on.

Are you building a .257? How soon are you getting it back? I’m thinking of using my HFIRE tank for a .257 as well…

I have the tank as well but, my AF is being worked on by Dyotat. Once I get it back, I will be happy to provide an update as well. :biggrinn:
