It’s wood. Honestly, I would have preferred a solid ABS like on my dynamax.
I have not installed mine yet. It’s been very wet around here and the paint actually felt damp when I opened the box. It’s supposed to warm up significantly this weekend. I’ll hang the stock in the sun for a day or 2 then see if the finish feels more cured.
WOW!!! Very nice stock but $250 does seem high for a molded plastic part. Still very nice….

that does seem a bit expensive when you can buy an ss for less than $450. but such is the nature of mass-production – or the lack thereof in the case of artisans.

i did find the rl site helpful because they mentioned the extra weight added by doug’s stocks. i’m reluctant to keep adding more weight to my ss which i seem to do with each upgrade.
Price is (was) $250+, the $250 version is the short all black finish.
Doug is making a number of stocks for RL Airguns ‘exclusively’, don’t know how long that will last.
I will admit that I contacted him and bought one from the last batch before his exclusive deal with RL, should be here in a few days.
I saw a post somewhere on someone buying a stock from RL but I think they are trying to sell them as add ons to their mod’ed rifles. No idea what the pricing is from RL.
I think the price is on the high side but I just can’t get away from the AF guns despite being routinely frustrated with them. I think I’ll have at least one AF unit in the safe as long as I’m in this game so having what looks like a real nice stock for one seemed like a good addition.
i don’t really want to bother him unless i’m prepared to purchase. does anyone know the approximate cost?

They are like an Edgun stock except made of maple instead of beech. Think of tough bedliner type spray for the coating (3 coats steel wool’d inbetween). R&L has a waiting list but the market has to saturate. I might add a swivel point to mine for an accessory or bipod. They don’t come std. It completely changes the gun. I am glad it is wood with a very tough textured coating but the shortness and cutouts make it light. For ergonomics it is pretty close to perfect and handily beats the Edgun grip.
