Dressing my new CORSAIR (short story with pics)
Received my .308 Corsair the other day from Randy and i was very excited to see that brown box sitting in the living room awaiting my arrival from work. Of course i could no open the box until i FULLY explained to my wife “WHY” i bought another BB GUN….lol. Ok, just joking guys.
After opening the box then removing the stock and the rest of the rifle, i was surprised at how light the receiver/air tube/barrel assembly actually was. I was supposed to weight it but i got so excited about putting the gun together, i totally forgot. Since i just received the gun, my plan was to install the upper into the QB stock that i originally had on my Jack Haley .32 and to put the factory QB78 stock on the JH32. I won’t bore you guys with too many words and i will do what i like, i will tell the story with pictures.

Being that i’ve had a few QB guns, i have a lot of spare parts. Here, i opted to install the bigger aftermarket bolt handle:
Next, i went through the trigger assembly. Actually, i have 2 extra fully assembled and tuned trigger assemblies. The internals were already polished and tuned so i simply swapped the Corsair internals and made all necessary adjustments. No, as of tonight i did not use my trigger pull gauge to see what the pull weight is but again, what i’ve done so far is just beggining phase before i take it out and test it. All other adjustments will be made later.
Next was to fit the Corsair to the Richards Micro fit stock. No big deal hear at all. Just slid the action in and VOILA!:
Next up was to install the Scope onto the receiver. I have a ton of scope rings and it was simply a matter of finding a good set of MEDIUM scope rings for the SIMMONS 6-21 MD scope:
Last but not least, i installed the scope and made all the final adjustments to the rings and scope to get the cross hairs to my liking. The final product was:

The Corsairs are highly modified Chinese QB78 rifles
basically the breech is fitted with a new bolt and barrel then mounted to a new PCP pressure tube with QB internals
I am slowly building a .308 QB that’s running a custom barrel and bolt by Rich in MI, a Jack Haley tube with a Rich in MI modded big bore valve and a Marauder trigger group with the Stainless Enick trigger, safety and guard. My stock is the same is the one above with a few mods to it
The Corsairs are pretty decent but in my opinion need a bit of work to bring them up to speed
never cared for the QB trigger group hence the install of the upgraded Crosman box
QB valves are quite a bit different than the Disco valve, basically to use them as a high pressure air valve they need the valve stem replaced with a derlin faced one then screwed or pinned to the tube like the disco after removing the interior packing and reassembly
not sure what all was done to the valves on the Corsair
I don’t care for the QB striker set up either, have an assembly out of a CaptChur tranquilizer dart gun that is a side cocker with a two position hammer I will probably end up installing on mine
not breech oring transfer port oring
its a nice gun but one ???? under the front scope mount it looks to be missing the breech oring or does it have a poly tube in there

It looks like a Crosman Disco or child thereof, does he make the valve or is it a Disco valve?
