Q:

EDgun @ 202yds lasered with Nikon range finder..

I finally found a straight through shot, 200+yds, to test my guns. The
EDgun was the first…. I can’t tell you what a rush it was to hear the
pellet find the 2’X2′ piece of 1/4″ plywood I put out to shoot at…. I shot
this laying on the ground off of the bipod. I can’t imagine how tight the
group would be if it were off of sand bags.. I had the scope adjusted to
full up elevation (155yd zero) and had the 4th mildot down lined up on a
strand of barbed wire that was about 2′ above and about 6″ to the right
of the center of the plywood…There was a light breeze blowing right to
left… It seemed to take forever for the pellet to land once I fired…. What
a blast. The group was 11″ wide and 6 1/8″ tall

Damed Freddy, you kinda look like a crazy mf in that avatar! 😆

I think that is his “I am serious” look…. From the angle of the camera, it
kinda looks like that pissed off dog mighty have taken the picture

You know how it goes…in for a penny, in for a pound (help me out here Pab)!

Actually, Mac1 will cut droop rings/mounts. I might have gone that route except for not knowing exactly what I wanted or what would work. It will be awhile before I get another long range gun (waiting on a huge power .62) but if you find droop mounts for less that can handle significant recoil, let me know!

Jerry,

Why would you want .62 cal for? If you like big caliber, why don’t you get the powdergun?

Get 1 of this “DSR-Precision DSR 50 sniper rifle”, you can do it up to 2 miles. 😆 😆 😆

I left out a huge piece of info… The scope wa turned down to 10X
magnification… Makes a huge difference when you are using mildots…

Nice rings Jerry.. I need some rings that have elevation turrets on
them..lol…. I’ll get it figured out…. 200yds is as far as I want to try to
go…

If you’re going to keep shooting at really silly long ranges with that cheap ass glass you might want to try some better scope rings! The big Nikko does not have as great an adjustment range as I would like. I kinda like the long range stuff too…

This gun can reach out but until I changed the rings, it was holdover city…

This is what you need to make dialing in at long range practicable. These are Barrett 15/40 MOA mounts.

Right side of the mounts. The front mount has a pivot and the rear mount has a pin that lets you switch from 15 to 40 MOA of compensation. In these pictures I have the mounts set to where they provide the full 40 MOA drop. I found that I could not dial this gun down low enough in power and dial the scope down far enough to not have to hold under at 43 yards with the full compensation. Instead of going to 15 MOA setting, I just moved the rear mount back a slot in the Picatinny rail and that got me the range to dial the scope on from 40 to at least 200 yards.

Left side of the rear mount, these things are pretty sturdy! What with being made for .50 powder burners and all. One nice feature is that the rings are designed to have you tighten the screws for the top piece all the way on one side and the snug down the other two screws. No need to do the diagonal torque thing…

Oh, the flash made the color difference on the rings really pop but in real life the minor finish difference is hardly perceptible. The rings are expensive as … well, they’re expensive. But the only other suitable mount I could find for my application was far more expensive.
