Hi Hoot. Congrats on the Edgun. Mine has never gave me any probs filling it. Do both of the O rings on the fill probe look OK? You might try putting a light coating of silicone grease or vasoline on them and trying again.

I don’t mean to make it sound like I think that you are some kind of a dumn ass but, are you sure that the fill probe is inserted in all of the way? My probe is a loose fit in the air tube but has never leaked.

It works now. I put silicone on the O rings and noted the bottom one was gone ( I suspect that was my fault) I replaced the missing O ring and firmly held the probe straight in to the rifle and it filled fine.

That’s an interesting fill technique. I’m going to get some replacement O rings, even though it came with spares. This way I’ll know exactly what size to get. I might try a slightly larger diameter O ring for the probe, because my O rings don’t seem to extend out from the wall of the probe. They just tuck into their grove and seem to offer no friction at all.

If I put the probe in and hold the rifle straight out, the probe falls out. I’m thinking it needs a thicker O ring. It shouldn’t be that loose.

That aside, the rifle reflects the finest workmanship and quality I have ever seen on an air rifle. The new shroud is absolutely dead silent. Tiny hammer “pink” and a reallly hard slap when the pellet hits the target. This thing will definitely put anything it hits in the hurt locker.

Don’t get me wrong. This is a minor issue and easily resolved. I am very happy with this rifle. It is well worth the money.

PS: Thanks Kiba…you and Old Goat got me on the right track.

Hoot,

You have been going thru your sexual life like that with your dick being too loose a fit, so why does it surpise you now?

Congraulations.

It’s not the size of the log that matters….you can stuff a 10″ poker in a 5 gallon drum and it will rattle around. I’ve been very unlucky in that regard

Hoot, congrats on your Edgun. Now, go shoot the damn chickens 🙂 .

Make sure you don’t sideload the probe with hose tension or the angle of the gun when filling– it will leak. This is especially true at the very beginning of a fill where the initial pressure is needed to push the o-rings out to seal everything up. If the fill probe doesn’t have a straight shot into the port without any side load it will hiss and leak as soon as you start to fill it.

It’s a bit of a balancing act when I fill my Edgun from the scuba tank and if I have the natural bend of the hose the wrong way or if the gun is hanging from the hose a little it will leak– but as soon as you get everything in alignment it doesn’t leak at all.

Same goes from filling from my FX 4-stage pump, if I have the fill hose too tight or the angle is off a little bit it won’t seal up.

Obviously I’m too stupid to put a male probe into a female probe receiver…so I can’t guarantee anything.

Will someone tell me what I’m doing wrong on refill? The probe fits the receiver rather loosely, but the O rings are there. Hmmmmmm…..

I live in the “Natural State” of Arkansas, in the Ouichita Mountains.

First impression: This thing is deadly quiet! A small ping from the hammer and a “SLAP” when the pellet hits the target. There is no sound of air release. Good job Ed!

Second: How the hell do you fill this thing? I got the probe, put it on my fill hose and plugged it into the opening at the bottom of the barrel. But when I turn on the air, it hisses out the sides of the probe????

There’s got to be a secret I don’t know….a little help here???
