EDgun Leshiy tuning and using tipps
Hi Guys,
here i have some Tipps for you what i was noted by making my Leshiy reviews.
The barrel will be holt in place with 2 screws in the front of the gun.
If you forget to lock this screws, the barrel will be push forward by the first shot and damaging your shroud/silencer insert!!
Also, make always for sure that the screws are tight!
If you want to grease the barrel for rust protection so you must tighten the screws little bit more.
The .177 barrel have the most air pressure on the end and must be locked tighter than the other ones!
ED gesign the Leshiy for .25 but i use it as multi caliber gun.
So it comes that i switch often between the Calibers.
Now i see that the barrel locking screws are too short and gos not true alt the thread of the magnet holding plate of the other side.
The problem what can come now is that the tread brackets easier out by often barrel switching.
I changed the old screws to new longer stainless steel ones.
Now all the thread will be used and hold stronger/longer.
If anyone uses Atlas bipods like me,… if you cock the gun the Atlas will be touch the gun end and can scratch it.
Some eclectic tape can protect it 🙂

3D printer plastic wil not survive, I am afraid.
1. The screw to fix the barrel is M6x20
2. I especially made the moderator of plastick to make it cheap in comparison to alluminium ones. The inserit of the moderator to Erik will be sent on Monday. Moreover, I like that way of moderators to be made since they are easily changable, they are cheap, they are available. The only thing for the next models of EDgun with such moderator I will make them for lower caliber and then drill for the necessary caliber, when assembling.
Not sure if you can “just” 3D print it, it’s not exactly everyday plastic, it is military grade or something.
I’m wondering If Ed has the 3D file of the plastic insert, so people can just print it out with 3D printer.

Barrel retaining screw is M6, they are perfectly fine considering they only need 1/4 turn to loosen the barrel to get it out or 1/2 turn to loosen to point that the barrel will just drop out, so there is plenty enough thread there.
I used 1.5mm Neoprene on the tube for a nicer an non cold cheek weld, wanted to retain the look of the gun so went for this in black. Also put some on points where the bipod can come in contact with the gun with tube folded and bipod with legs both folded and un folded.
The barrel locking screws should be an M8 when i am remember right.
For the price of the Silencer insert i have write ED an mail.
I will write it here when i it know.
For me is the broken silencer insert no problem, i will make me some out of aluminium and for oll 3 caliber.
The problem is that the pellet opening is make four the .25!
If you shot now .22 or .177 it is not so effective/louder because of the larger pellet opening.
The grip and the silencer insert (Valve Stem) are the only things out of plastic.
I will repeat the question asked by Piter: what’s the size of the barrel screws?
Doh! How much did this cost to replace? Since the barrel slid forward, it must have damaged the first baffle as well?
For those of you who own this gun, what are the chances of the barrel being sieged in the gun? Barrel is steel and gun is aluminum right? Anyone have a pic of the barrel removed and looking down the barrel opening?
First of all… great thread idea and thanks for the tip to tighten the screws well. BTW, what’s the size of the barrel screws?
Here couple of my mine:
1. when mounting a scope -> use one step higher mount or just calculate very carefully the distance between objective bell and LDC housing.
2. adding front grip is fine as long as the grip is very small, otherwse there might be a problem to fold the gun fully and engage magnet for transport. Front grip is not really needed on Leshiy BUT it looks cool and that front rail just asks for it. Best I found is FAB Defense mini grip which allows to lock my hand always in the same place on Leshiy. Anyway, it needs a little file work on the edge (about 0.1″ or so) to make some space for the air tube (when folded). And for front-mounting it requires a bit more work to make a cut-out for butt/carabiner mounting screw. But anyway, it’s 10 minutes job. (sorry for crappy pic but it’s made on the spot in office app):
3. During fall & winter take some GearSkin material (available on gearskin.eu or find some equivalent) and stick it arount the tube…. SO MUCH better feel. It’s a quality cordura based material, easily removable if needed, and makes shooting in winter conditions massively nicer. GearSkin is VERY easy to apply, forgiving, and very durable.
The other option could be balaclava but honestly I’d avoid like hell shooting Leshiy in balaclava… there is a chance that a passing by officer could shoot you first and question later (if still possible). It doesn’t look like your grandpa’s airgun 😉
4. Rubber hand grip looks cool too but it’s not really needed as well. If your hands are big, well, might help a bit maybe but the original grip is very good. BTW, I think the aftermarket grip cap with some sort of small palm shelf would be an awesome add-on!
