Both scopes are very good if you planning on bench rest shooting, I would go for the tactical 6.5-20×42 for hunting, enough magnification. 😉
John, I am on that same exact page on scopes, I was going with Hawke I believe and debating on those two models. I have played around with some bench rest .22 rim fire shooting with a T36 Weaver 36 power and want all of that magnification for precision aiming but this gun will be more a a pest bird eradicator, a plinker, and a gun to run a lot of rounds through to get proficient with the mil dot system so I can use it instinctively for ranging and shooting without a rangefinder ipad and chair gun every time. I am still perplexed but have it down to those two for the most part. I think Hawke is a lot of scope for the money in PCP air rifles. I am wanting to learn a little more about first -vs- second surface reticle etching and it’s impact before I buy. I am heading back to re-watch Teds video on his day scope shopping, it had some info on this that I did not fully absorb.

Congrats!!!
Me too, I am in the market for a scope. I already have a hawke sidewinder 30. Its magnifications are from 8-32x, I have never used it more than 24x. I think it is kind of a waste. I wonder if you guys have a a Hawke 6.5-24×56 and give me some inputs, it is appreciated.
John
Congrats on the first gun! Merry Christmas.
This is my first post, !! I wired payment today for my .25 long, I have wanted an Edgun Matador for quite some time. I am very excited. I have read about and followed Ed and his guns for a long time. Now to firm up on which scope for it.

Hope you get well soon from your surgery.
Thanks John, I started rehab yesterday. I’m going to have to rely on the .30 cal guys keeping me updated on their first impressions on performance and accuracy until I get to the range. 😀
Thanks BobbyB,
Hope you get well soon from your surgery.
I received my email from Tony regarding shipping tomorrow. I’m in West PALMBEACH Florida and Airwolf is in central Florida. Just maybe the Florida guys will have theirs in hand by Thursday. Unfortunately I just had knee surgery and won’t be able to get out with it for a few day’s. Congrats to all of you receiving your Edguns and for those of you receiving your first Edgun you’re going to see what the fuss is all about. :8:
Me too!
LUCKY DUCKS!
