Dear friends,
I know that I had to make a lot new videos for my guns long time ago, but due to different problems I failed to do it. Good news, next week my representative from Argentina Francisco will come to stay with me for a months so we will have time to make a lot of different videos about the guns. As I explained before many things regarding the guns are seem to me so obvious that I am surprise that it is not well known bay rest of people. I know I am wrong that is why I need you help in making the list of the theme I have to make video for, even minor things. Just give me a clue 🙂

Persuade me so I pay the $5 for the iStrelok 😀
I have been using the free version of iStrelok for years and really like it. It has most reticles in its database including all the Hawke versions. It presents the same info as Chairgun but in a different ways. I use both iStrelok and Chairgun and both have their advantages. However, over time I find my self going to iStrelok most often. I recommend that everyone should try both to see what works best for you.

The most magic is the magnification.
if you change the magnification on the same distance, the point change automaticaly.
Exemple :
MOA 2, Sightron reticle holdovers
Reticle is in the Second Focal Plane (SFP)
Min. magnification: 10.0
Ranging magnification: 12.0
Max. magnification: 50.0
Current magnification: 10.0

OK, this is what I will do, I will buy the iStrelok because Ed likes it and because it is by a fellow Russian guy but I am curious to compare it to chairgun for the same input.
As for you DonnyFL, you are lucky if you got your Matador for $2000, me and Gerard payed $2875 for our guns and didn’t get a single dollar of discount 🙂

Ed, is it the SWFA SS 10×42 scope that you are still using? I wonder how come you get more than 200 clicks on the elevation? it is 3 + turns
I have the Hawke Sidewinder TAC 6.5-20 x 42 and I am sure the turret wont turn that much.
Thank you! What I really was in need — the tool which will calculate everything clearly, exact and easy 🙂 I found one, I like it, but it doesn’t mean I just push anybody to use only it 🙂

I’ve paid for $30 apps just to try them out. Not that big of a deal if it sucks. Apps are hit or misses, even if they get great reviews, it might not fit your needs. If $5 means better accuracy I would definitely try it. However, since I have a Hawke scope, Chairgun makes it so much easier. Haven’t had a chance to test it out far as in Ed’s video but for my short range shooting, it does well. Great shooting Ed!
Sure he deserves the 5 dollars, I was referring to iPhone have to pay and not android 😀

Yes, there are free versions, but I think that there is no problem and that is not great waist of 5 dollars to pay the author for super tool he gave us 🙂

As you know I never persuade anybody to anything, even to buy my guns 🙂 I am just sharing the information I have. I used Chaigun Pro as well, very nice calculator, no doubt, but I just put in there the same data I used fo Istrelok for 201 meter (just remove the wind) and got the recommendation of 235 clicks, the drop of the pellet – 327.68 cm, IStrelok told me 244.8 clicks and drop of the pellet – 357.7 cm. The difference is 30 cm, quite a lot, don’t you think? On the video you can see that I didn’t do ANY test shooting at that distance I just used the information from calculator and turn the turrets of my scope to the number of clicks I got from the calculator. The result — hit the target. Maybe that is the point to pay only 5 bucks for using the right tool? At least for me that is the point.
Strelok is free, on android 😀 didn’t know the i cost that much.

So what is the advantage of using this iStrelok program over the Hawke Chairgun Pro which is free and as far as I can see has the same exact options.

Good shooting Ed, looking forward to the 300m challenge !
Speaking from personal experience I never really ventured beyond 50-60m(unrested shots) but since I got the R3M in .25 from you last year I am now taking regular 100m shots with absolute confidence and that distance is gradually increasing !
I have not attempted to bench rest to greater distances yet, but you have certainly given me the tool to do this.
It’s a triumph of engineering Ed, and I salute you and your hunger for perfection !
